Loved the hand gestures and how no time was wasted showing things

Thanks, glad you thought so! Have been trying to tone them down a tad from when we first started so they’re not too fast, but still succinct :)

Best explanation video ever. Even more clearer than the actual game itself. I needed a guide cause I couldn't understand it from the rules guide...bad translation maybe? Thanks for the video ❤
@boardgaimz9 ай бұрын
Awww thanks, glad it helped! We find rules in lots of games are often a little ambiguous. It’s definitely a skill rule writing. We always look at our older videos and think ‘what about this scenario we didn’t cover’ etc.

I don't think translation is the reason, game rule booklets are never very good in my experience

Great video! I've watched a few tutorials for this game including a playthrough and this is by far the easiest, most concise and precise instructional video I've watched for this game. Cheers!

About the way to win with "the winning hand", if I understood correctly, it would require to play a big enough hand, so the other players cannot scout it and beat it until it's your turn again. Basically if you are able to scout your own card, you win? What about the scenario where the player prior to you scouts the last card? Thank you for the video!
@boardgaimz10 ай бұрын
Heya, no problem! So the way to win is to have the most points. The ‘winning hand’ as you refer to is a round end condition. A round ends if EITHER one player runs out of cards, or ALL other players (apart from the one who laid the set on the table) could not, or did not play against a players set on the table and only scouted from it. If you are the player that laid down that hand, when it comes to scoring the round, you don’t deduct points for how many cards you have left in your hand. Everyone else does. You play as many rounds as there are players. Whoever has the most points at the end of them all wins. So for example: If you laid down a hand and everyone scouts from it up until it’s your turn again, the round ends, scoring for the round begins and you don’t lose any points for the cards left in your hand. If, for example, you’re playing with 5 players and you lay down a 2 card set, then the 2 players after you scout both the cards in your set so that there’s nothing left on the table, the next player can lay down whatever they like as there’s nothing to scout from or beat. Hope that makes sense?

Just one question because it is not clear for me in the rules and you didn’t show it as well. If somebody plays 4 5 6, can I beat it with 7 8 9?
@boardgaimz10 ай бұрын
Yep, if the type of set and number of cards are the same, the set with the lowest value card in it loses. So the 7,8,9 wins as the 4,5,6 has the lowest value card in it (the 4).
@TheQrank10 ай бұрын
@@boardgaimz thanks a lot! So also 789 beats 678, right?
@boardgaimz10 ай бұрын
@@TheQrank No problem! It sure does as 6, 7, 8 has the lowest value (6) :)

At 2:04 why was the no2 card not placed between 1 and 3?
@boardgaimzАй бұрын
Just to demonstrate that you can place it where you like in your hand when you scout a card . Placing it between 1 and 3 would probably be the more strategic choice in a game though :)
@TJay96Ай бұрын
@ Thanks. I would suggest trying to add a bit of the basic strategy to the instructions. I found it helpful in another video

So the colours of the cards have no purpose in this game?
@boardgaimz9 ай бұрын
Nope! The colours are just to differentiate the numbers / highlight the two halves of each card a bit more.

For us it fits the niche of quick and easy game to take the pub or play with someone not wanting something too complex. It’s another trick taking game (a crowded genre), with another little twist. Wouldn’t say it blew us out the water either, but it’s a solid little game that’s easy for non gamers to pick up too. There’s a few things to consider if you want to (which way up to have your hand, where to put scouted cards, when to use your scout and show tokens, which adjacent cards to use and when) or you can just play without thinking too deep either. For a small box and some cards, it does a fair bit we guess, just depends if this type of game is up your street .
@mescaLEO10 ай бұрын
It is fun and easy to play , the strategy (although not very high) is there, the battle is mostly between you and yourself. Furthermore it can be appreciated both by experienced players and non gamers alike and it is a very compact and portable game that can be played anywhere. It may be not in your alley, however give it a try before dismissing it completely.
