CAMI LOOPS

Күн бұрын

In its most standard form, shout music is characterized by very fast tempo, chromatic bass lines, snare hits and hand claps on the upbeat of each beat. The organ typically plays dominant 7 chords while improvising over blues riffs. The pianist typically plays counter rhythms to the established rhythmic structure. There are many variations of this particular style of music. Often bands will break into shout music at the end of a song or as a finale, or at a particularly high emotional point during a church service or sermon-often cued by the pastor or speaker themselves.
Shout music is used as a bed for vocal riffing and calling out of exclamatory catch phrases, or "shouts" (e.g. "Hallelujah!" or "Thank you, Lord!").

It just hits different literally 🔥 when you have an anointed personplaying drums or whatever instrument// because you’re in tune with the heart of God and the music comes from a pure place and is able to penetrate the heart of those in need of a touch from God. 🥰 if that makes sense

I dont care what ANYBODY says, the Black American church is actually the PREMIERE music school in America. Just think of everyone that is connected to it and what its produced. Singers, musicians, wise. Even rappin. *ALL* the "sauce" in American music came from ADOS church tradition. Everybody from Whitney Houston, to James Brown to The Jubilairees, to Al Green, to Victor Wooten, Fantasia, Brandy and all the pro musicians and singers who back up most of the major artist etc. I love it.

Great video, I wish this video would have helped 30 yrs ago when I first played in a gospel service. While I never developed "gospel chops" back then, I was able to develop a solid shout groove and improved as a drummer and a person because of that time. Oh, and I met Jesus from that time in the Gospel service

I can’t believe only 785 views. This spiritual approach to rhythm is missing in much of our western music (except gospel Afro/American style). I am Canadian but have immersed in Afro Brazilian music via capoeira and this kind of energy is strong in Brazilian folkloric styles like batucada and Maracatu. I am inspired by your discussion of small drum sets. I have spent years agonizing over bongos vs cajintos. Brushes vs multirods. Cajons vs ‘jungle kits’ for playing samba, trap, Caribbean marches in the context of live PA sound system music in the west coast festival scene. Seeing your demonstrations has helped me focus on some techniques and instrumentation that will get me playing out more with less indecision around what will work in terms of tone through the PA. Looking forward to more videos. Dan

OK I'm on your channel now Camellia (got the spelling from the caption, hope it is right)! Watched several more vids after your recent single stroke demo introduced you to me and I'm commenting again that aside from being a killer player, your educational ability is really high level. You give ONE concept and use repetition and example to make that one concept become clear. It's the right way to teach!!! And btw congrats on the recent Tama endorsement and also on the obvious fact that your son has music in him too :-)
