Nice game! We play our Tarot cards very similar to this. It also has 14 cards each from 4 different suits, plus 22 Major cards which act as either of the pirates, or the skull king, or the escape card.

for the bonus points, how do you keep track of who played what card? with stacks of tricks lined up? is there a separate sheet for keeping track of bonus points?

You don’t get bonus points for playing the card, you get the points for winning the trick with the cards. So as you win tricks you set them near you and if you have any bonus point cards at the end you add it in if you made your bid correctly.
