Mahalo for putting together this tutorial, Harry! Ever since listening to Ray Kane’s music, I’ve been hunting for tutorials/tabs for his music. I’ll continue practicing & playing until it sounds half as nahenahe as Uncle Kane used to play it :)

Just bought a Square Neck Tricone and do not know where to go from here and need your help. I am so confused with what tunning I should use. It is in open G Taro Patch right now, DGDGBD thinking this is a Hawaiian tunning. Now I just discovered the Lap Guitar videos I have been watching are DOBRO, GBDGBD. Then I found someone who says he uses ''A-Highbass the early version of the infamous Dobro tuning that in the early style of Sol Hoopii used. I have .016 to .059 strings on as National Guitar told me to do for open G or D tuning. Do I use the Dobro tunning GBDGBD or open G, DGDGBD or A C# E A C# E turned down that I cannot figure out so I do not need to buy special strings?? Thank you!!!

Jerry Byrd played in about 13 different higher Hawaiian steel guitar tunings. You need to use lighter strings. String 1 - .015 String 2 - .017 or .018 String 3 - .018 -.020 String 4 - .022 - .023 String 5 - .026w String 6 - .030w - .032w

@@Harrysguitar I think I will use what Bob Brozman used. He is said to use Taro open G with the .016 to .059 strings .
