How To Play Stellaris Nexus

The Stellaris Nexus demo is out for you to try, it's probably a bit confusing at first, however I've put together this video where we play part of a session to go over some of the details on how to play the game and it's underlying mechanics. As an avid board gamer, this game really feels like a Twilight Imperium. Edit: after having played a little bit more I can truly say this feels like a board game in video game format; it has nothing to do with OG Stellaris (which I still love and will continue playing) apart from sharing the name and lore. If this was a real board game it would probably take 8-9 hours to play like Twilight Imperium, but having the pc doing background calculations and rolls, handling the AI and making turns simultaneus it cuts down the length. I understand if this is not everyone's cup of tea, but try to judge it as a very complex board game, not a simplified video game. OG Stellairs and this occupy diffrent niches.

I am all for a shorter, fast burning Twilight Imperium. I simply cannot play it in real life or on Tabletop Simulator

Ya I’ve got about 70 hours in nexus. TI4 was definitely the first comparison I made. I love TI4, but I just don’t have time for it almost ever, so really happy about this game

Looks oike twilight imperium made digitial. Im sold. I wish it used twilights movement system. I love the idea of activating a sector and movijg anyone in range for assistance, that then locks them in there for good. Its so fun for bluffing on either side.

Reminds of civ rev spin-off that civilisation had, was fun and far less complex, hoping this is the same as it would be a nice thing to be able to finish a game in one session

Not everyone has time to pump out a stellaris game, especially with multiplayer. This is a shorter quick version for a market that likes the theme but hasn't the time.

Someone please tell the Stellaris team to update the paragons. It's ridiculous that if I make Vas the Gilded my queen, her portrait clips out of the room window and her air looks like an identical copy of her. At least giver male and female hair unique cloths and appearances. The same goes for if I make Baron Vyctor Jariden king.

Dumb question but I recently picked up stellaris and was woundering if your tutorial a few years back is still worth watching its a bit daunting trying figure out how not to suck right at the start 😅

Not a dumb question at all my friend. And to trying giving you an answer to the best of my ability: It depends on what subject it covers. For example: *Stellaris 3.8 For Beginners - The Basics* Is a very recent video on the general game play. But a video being old doesn't automatically mean it is outdated. You see, while the video on Espionage Mechanics may be 2 years old it still hold up. This is because it was made right after a large rework that introduced this system in particular. Recent Stellaris updates/rework often focus on one particular aspect of the game. To give an approximation, I don't think you have to worry too much about it as long as the video is from 2019 or later. I would recommend watching the first video I mentioned and only consult the wiki/video on one particular subject when you can't figure something out or come up with questions during gameplay. It may look a bit daunting, but don't worry about it.
