It's probably the best out of the Kaizo hacks that I've played.

in my opinion th most important thing to keep in mind with difficult games is to not rage / get taken over by frustration . if you’re feeling frustrated , take a break ! you actually tend to perform worse when you’re stressed out and feeling th need to do better . games are for fun , never make yourself play something bad for your well-being .

Snes9x has built-in bps and ips patch support. You don't need FLIPS to patch the ROM. You just need the original ROM file, and the patch file, to be named the same (just different file extensions) on the same directory. Then Snes9x will apply the patch automatically when the ROM loads, the original file is not modified.

I'll probably play Ryu World next; I just finished Storks and looking for something to cool down with. Pretty good advice for starting off too. I kinda started with GPW1 first after Panga's Kaizo Kindergarten, which was the total masochistic route and probably not the best decision. I was able to 100% it, but it for sure wasn't easy and was frustrating at times (The People's Castle kicked my ass). Ultimately, I was kinda hoping I might beat GPW2 before Barb releases GPW3 which might be a bit grueling, but we'll see.

There is one more thing you should add: you need an US ROM of SMW, an EU one doesn't work IIRC.
@SkySpiral7_Lets_play3 жыл бұрын
Important step that's implied: make sure you can Mario before you attempt to Kaizo. You should start by doing 100% Super Mario World. It's a full length game and some of the bonus levels are hard and that's exactly what you'll need to be able to deal with for Kaizo. Also there's some SMW specific things you'll need to know like the difference between a regular/spin jump and the behavior of enemies/items/yoshis.
