Sound changes according to what the drum is on. if drum can vibrate carefree, it sounds better The legs hinder the vibration. therefore it sounds too deep and muffled

Why do you play with resonating hole face up sometimes and face down others?

@@rontan8433 I don't know if you got your answer by now, but they're very flexible on the building of tank drums, so most likely the answer is yes. Look for the page "customizable tank drum" on their site.
