I think KZbin suggested one video and now they've suggested a few more and it's just so pleasent. When I was like 9 I took piano lessons and she was just an old teacher that didn't make it fun and it was so eh. I didn't last very long. I remember keys and how to read music. I never went back. I enjoy listening to people play and watching someone (such as yourself) teach, but I just never got back into it. Being a GOOD teacher is so underrated and under-appreciated. Just because you know how to do something doesn't mean you know how to teach someone else. That's a whole different dynamic. I appreciate how you teach and you enjoy it and I enjoy watching for that reason.

I’m 58 just started. 3 years in. I’m on my 3rd teacher along with classes too. It’s so frustrating. The teachers NEVER seem to have a strategy. It’s like being blind folded and being walked through a forest. They don’t give any indication as to where you’re going. Therefore I’ll never know who’s a good teacher for years until I progress. All that being said.....I admit the problem is probably my ability. They just won’t ever tell me that truth. Reputable school.....I hope they really believe I’ll make it. Good luck. It’s an endless crossword puzzle.

@@ScottLRoyal ......they get tired of me asking that. It’s not their fault.....ultimately you can only blame yourself. However....I’ve never seen anything with such little order to it.

Cannot fault this tutorial at all. This is a classic beginner song that will set the feel for those starting out learning piano ..an easy but rewarding song to progress from .. I hope that makes sense ..

I had a bit of interest in piano (along with a guitar) when I was about 10 and I was pretty good at it I remember, but never continued on unfortunately. Fast forward 28 years later (although I have been practising a guitar for the last few years), my wife has pushed my daughter into piano lessons and decided that we'll be buying a piano soon for her. As I was more excited than anyone else in the family I went straight on KZbin and want to learn how to play the Scientist as my first piano music. There's a saying that it's never too late to learn anything. This is the second KZbin video that I have searched and your tutorial is amazing! Have a great day.

After watching the "learn piano in 7 days" video I thought to myself about a song I liked that had a piano and that sounded easy to play and I remembered The Scientist, so I went on Google to search for this song on piano and I see you have covered this song. I love this channel now.

Your videos are super helpful and easy to follow im learning this song in my piano lesson and i refer to the video for reference a little bit anyways i made my Dm7 easier by playing the D note with the left hand and not the right. And i play a Csus4 instead of Fsus2 also I guess my Bb is a Bb sus2. In a was able to kinda reference the technique used in your video piano playing for singers The changes with the few chords give my poor left hand more functionality and purpose instead of just being that root note

in the beginning when explaining the Dm7 you say tthat its played with CDFA on the right hand but when you start playing at 1:23 you dont play that D key and you start playuing it on your left hand instead....? why?
@PianoteOfficial4 жыл бұрын
This is a great question! It's called a "rootless voicing" because I'm not playing the root (bottom) note of the chord in my right hand. But I am still playing the root in the left, so even though the notes of the Dm7 chord are not played in order (D-F-A-C) they are all still played, so it is still a Dm7 chord. In music we don't have to play every single note in order to make up a chord - we can swap the order around to create some really beautiful sounds!
@ricksanchez1475 күн бұрын
If you wanna play the full chord with the D note in the right hand, you can just play octaves in the left hand.
