@caeligocielo56343 жыл бұрын
While this is true, this either requires your DM to allow you to have an Artificer NPC (that you're probably on good terms with) or it requires one of your party members to use one of their infusions for your roleplay (which is kinda selfish, in my opinion). In addition, the other elements of Artificer, specifically Repeating Shot and the Cannon, are really good for the build. As a quick counterpoint to one of my own points: Your DM could include the Artificer NPC and have you NOT be on good terms, which could make for some interesting plot hooks. Maybe they refuse to service your arm, leading to situations where it might break down. Maybe they're sending death squads to hunt you down so they can either kill you or re-brainwash you. Honestly, I've kind of talked myself into the NPC, despite the benefits that the Artificer levels bring to the build.

Love this! Only thing that I was thinking might change and also help the build is put charisma as the dump instead of wisdom. Coming from an IC standpoint, brainwash-era Buck doesn't apply here as your char would be in control of itself, and post-brainwash he tended to be pretty level headed, didn't really rush into things without a plan, etc. However, the world still considers him a terrorist/traitor/murderer, so he won't be winning over anyone outside of the Avengers and Co. for a looong time. But anyway, great vid, and thanks for that fanfic comment, gave me a good laugh :D

Great build. One alternative if you don't want to use one of your infusions for a prosthetic limb is to go with Armorer instead of Artillerist. One of the features of your arcane armor is that it replaces any missing limbs. And both Guardian and Infiltrator modes play pretty decently into flavor. Of course, you don't get Shield, but you can grab Magic Missile instead.

While TCoE did remove the prosthetic limb from the replicate magic item list, it is a common magic item, so you can use XGtE magic item crafting to create an arm with 50 gp in a workweek. As long as your DM doesn't make you kill an exotic creature for a common magic item. I'm doing my part to fuel the algorithm.
@brewdaly18733 жыл бұрын
I was wondering about that. Cause on D&D Beyond Prosthetic Limb is not listed on the Artificer page, but you can select it while building a character. As a DM though, I'd have no problem just letting a player have a prosthetic limb if they wanted it, since it has no real in game advantage.
@Vivace663 жыл бұрын
TCOE lets the artificer create any common magic item (which the prosthetic limb is) as an infusion. They removed it from the list because it would be redundant to list it there too.

A good build for next year that fans including me have been wanting for a while is Ezio the lead protagonist of the set of Assassin's Creed storylines consisting AC2, the book AC: Renaissance AC: Brotherhood, AC: Revelations, and the CG epilogue movie AC: Embers. And it's an easy build basically it'd be a build that's a dual Assassin Rouge/Battle-Master Fighter basically Assassin Rouge for obvious reasons, and Battle-Master Fighter mostly because when Revelations, and Embers happen Ezio is no longer a rookie assassin but the head of the entire Italian Branch of the brotherhood, and a master of every fighting style he can learn and is capable taking down enemies including those with better armor and better weapons even though he's now in his mid-to-late 60s.

This sounds like a pretty nice build overall. Going by the cons listed your biggest issues are wisdom saving throws and being stuck in a meatgrinder session where you get into a lot of fights without being able to take a long rest to recover your abilities. Or did I misunderstand it? It sounded like you have the ability to dish out a lot of damage, but only for a few rounds before you run out of action surges and such, and same for defense as you only have so many times to reroll saves, or get the armor bonus.
@brewdaly18733 жыл бұрын
Even without action surge, you still get 3 attacks per round with your crossbow and repeating shot. And your eldritch cannon sticks around unless you dismiss it or it's destroyed. Your AC is also base 18 all of the time, so long as you put enhanced defense on medium armor. Tulok said 19, but unless I missed something it should be 18. You do only have so many uses of the Shield spell, but 18 still isn't bad.
@chrishubbard643 жыл бұрын
@@brewdaly1873 True, i didnt mean to imply your dps and survivability vanishes after action surges and such are gone, but you do have to admit that it takes a notable dive in both cases. Now I know thats true for every class, but the multiclass setups tend to have lower total resources to work with, or need to utilize more at once to hit their peak ability and so run out sooner because of that. At least as a melee class you wont have to worry about running out of spells, you can still shoot stuff so its not going to be terrible.

December build 16 reporting for duty. Race: Approximately 85% variant human, 15% warforged. Split the difference and say variant human. Background: Soldier. Stats: The Russian government would have made him at least decent at most things but there is a list of importance so, conveniently enough, we can go in descending order. #1: Strength: He's basically a (mostly) fleshy terminator and just really likes punching things. And is really good at it. #2: Dexterity: Bucky has training in weapon. He could probably kill you with a leaf but his primary weapons are knives and lots and lots of guns. That and he's hard to hit and easy to get hit by. #3: He got his arm ripped off and nearly died in the Russian tundra. Theu likely don't want their prozed weapon doing that again. #4: Intelligence: He's shown his meticulous strategic mind but most of his scenes end in a fist fight so physical stats come first. #5: Wisdom: It's a little on the low side, he was charmed by the Russian government for decades but once he really had a reason to, making the save wasn't all that difficult. #6: Charisma: Calm down, it pains me to give someone with hair that good such low charisma but the way I see it, when compared to Steve or Tony he's not all that fun to talk to and when compelled to the likes of Hulk and Thanos he's not especially threatening. He's overshadowed by other characters. In a solo campaign he would be absolutely terrifying. Class(es) - Fighter: To get proficiency with everything including the kitchen sink. Because remember the leaf comment from earlier? I stand by that. - Ranger: To get favored enemy since, like before, fleshy terminator. - Assassin Rogue: He worked for the Russian government for, again, decades as an assassin, sneaking into places and killing people. The MCU movies don't depict him using stealth that much but mostly here for the assassinate ability. Show me the Tiefling Bardbarian!

For roleplay with the prosthetic arm, use the 'Enhanced Defense' infusion.... Bucky often uses the arm to shield from incoming small arms fire. I'm new to 5E, but I'm under the impression there's no Merits/Flaws mechanics for losing a limb... so unless your game has homebrewed rules for such, treating the the 'Enhanced Defense' infusion in this way should be kosher. Mechanically, it'd be no different than if a character with 2 arms took 'Enhanced Defense' .... you're just adding fun flavor to it.

Great Vid, just finished and I loved it. One recommendation I would have for a character would be Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn really curious to see what you could come up with for her :)
@caeligocielo56343 жыл бұрын
She's obviously a Ranger, at least in part, but there are two questions that spring to mind: 'Are her 'heavy armors' equivalent to DnD Heavy Armor?' and 'What do her traps count as?' Since Rangers get access to all Weapons and up to Medium Armor, I'm going to say that her armor isn't heavy in the DnD sense to avoid having to dip over to Fighter. As heretical as it feels, I'm honestly inclined to go full Ranger for the build. The spells they get are fairly in character (Cure Wounds for her healing potions, Goodberry is the medicine bag, Ensnaring Strike, Hail of Thorns, Jump, Longstrider, Snare, Zephyr Strike, Locate Animals or Plants, Pass Without a Trace, Conjure Barrage for the multi-shot, Flame Arrows, Lightning Arrow, Locate Creature, Conjure Volley, Steel Wind Strike, and Wrath of Nature for her use of the environment). The downside is the you could get most of these easier and better by going for a Druid or even Wizard build (with some Fighter mixed in). As for the Ranger Conclave, it would probably be Hunter (though I considered Horizon Walker, just because of the name). You'd want to pick up Colossus Slayer, Escape the Horde, Volley, and Uncanny Dodge from the Hunter features. The Revised Ranger gives some good options - including Deft Explorer, which lets you double your proficiency bonus for one of your skills. Stealth, of course. Nature's Veil (the Hid in Plain Sight replacement) gives you some temporary nature-based invisibility as well. Ranger is definitely the most direct path to being in-character, but someone more clever than I am might be able to figure out a good multi-class combo that's more powerful (Assassin Rogue/ Battlemaster Fighter/ Stars Druid?).

How did you know about my plan to give the Assassin/Champion an Artificer friend who will arm them with infusions?

You Bless us with your Bardic Inspiration and Relentless Endurance to put out one video every day. I don't know if it's a Cunning Action or just a Stroke of Luck that the quality of these videos has been so consistent, but they're a Font of Inspiration either way. Plus, there's no denying you have a certain Instinctive Charm... Something something Ability Score Improvement.
