i watched this video about 50 times before getting to my keyboard. so i practically knew alot of the song as i played. i just started playing it today.. and ive been on it for hours.. perfecting it. i have about 80% of the song perfected! this helped me a LOT. thanks for the awesome video

So many good things in your comment - I like the intense focus before you got the keyboard, then the dedication to your practice session. With your approach you will learn to play lots of songs :)

The notation has its' limitations, but if you know the song, and know the letters of the keys (or put stickers on the keys), you can learn the song quickly. This song is a little more involved - for the spoken words I used X's rhythmically (like percussion music). Start with the RH melody, start on a G and play it just like it sounds in the original. Letters all correspond to keys on the piano. Not as precise as music notation, but very easy to learn something quickly :)

That's a tough one - so many instruments, rich vocal harmonies & great piano accompaniment during the singing. I'll see what I can do -)

i found this video very helpfull, thanks for that. i recently restored a little electric hohner reed organ from the 60s (organa 30), and look for pieces to practice .. getting used to a keyboard based instrument after playing guitar for like 17 years is a bitch. :D one thought on the LED keyboard: i always found it a silly idea, especially to teach beginners. because many, many teach, that about the most important thing you need to master is not to look at your fingers all the time, to internalize the instrument, so your brain can go on autopilot while playing, and i absolutely agree. however, for demonstration and teaching purposes like this tutorial, it seems to be the most brillient idea ever! and thinking about it from this point, it may actually help a newbie to internalize visualizing they keystrokes. how interresting! peace~

+Cuda FX No quicker way to learn a song on keyboard and internalize the chord progression. Similar to tab for guitar and / or chord charts. Glad to help :) Thanks for all of the kind words :) I'll bet that organ sounds pretty good :)

This sounds really good, and I want to download the letter sheet. But there's so many of them listed there, and it's frustrating to search for them through that. What is it listed under?

My hands aren't that big so it's very hard for me to do the intro with the C's like this
@LetterNotePlayer6 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure why your hand size should affect you on the intro. You just play one C with your LH ... play the (Eb-G) with your RH. Then when the LH plays the whole Cmin chord, it's just (C-Eb-G). The RH takes the haunting melody on G (up an octave).

Thank's a lot! But ... the "X" notes ... what notes are? Thanks ^^

The "X" notes are "spoken" - no pitches/tones involved :)
