It's okay. Honestly play how you see fit. For me and what I said in the video, I like to do, down, down, down, up down for the verses. For the chorus, everything is down on the "I wanted you" part. And then continues the verse strum pattern during "Good Lord..." Hopefully this helped! And congratulations on starting the guitar it's a really fun instrument to learn, and I'm sure with just a bit of practice, you'll have this song down in no time!
