@@EricBlackmonGuitar The first time I heard [of] Climbin' Up the Ladder was actually from a bass player from Wisconsin. I had not yet heard of the Isley Brothers. He was also trying to tell me how it goes. Unfortunately, I can't go back in time now to get with him and turn my amps all the way up for that phenomenal tune. I know I can do it full bast now. A few short years later, I wanted to actually hear it, and just happened to be in a craft/music store ran by a girl named Rhonda in Beech Grove, IN.. She had Go for Your Guns in the store, so I bought it. Somebody on here said that Marvin Isley is an underrated player? I don't see how that's possible, since Climbin' Up the Ladder has, and is, at the top of the list of the most iconic bass and rhythm tunes in the history of music.

I have been playing guitar since I was 8 years old and back when this song came out I was in an R&B funk band that played it. We did not have KZbin or even CD's back then, so we all listened to the songs at home and learned them, then put them together at practice. EVERYONE had to do it, or get fired from the band. Cheers! @@EricBlackmonGuitar I know. I just remember when I was learning that chord , I had to use my third finger and pinky so the g string would ring and wouldn't be muted. So now I'll have to learn it with the right fingers so I can use the pinky for the suspended. I guess it did sound like I was complaining, I apologize. The song is well worth the work. The Isleys have always been one of my favorites. Thanks.
