How Ernie Isley is never mentioned in ANY of the top 100 guitarists (or whatever survey) is outrageous. He’s terrific.

He has been snubbed by the industry which is so sad he is one of the greatest Guitar player. He also played Drums on all their early hits.

Very well done. Thank you for sharing. This is one of those songs that stand the test of time for me. I remember liking it from when it first came out and appreciate it more now. It's one of those songs I enjoy just listening to so much that I never wanted to take the time to try and figure out how to play it! Another song that comes to mind is "It's A Shame" by The Spinners. Those two guitars in the intro.!!! I think that's one of the all-time most perfect duo guitar riffs. I sat down once and tried to figure it out, but I'm still so mesmerized by it that I'm satisfied to just listen to it over and over. Thanks again

The Isley Brothers recorded a slower, R&B version of Who's That Lady in 1964. In 1973, they went from a singing group to a band. The signature song was remade as That Lady Parts I and II. They tried to emulate the Jimi Hendrix/Carlos Santana sound of the time.

Yo man, I subscribe to your channel because you shoot straight all the time bottom line, and I like a lot of the same music as you. One question, how many guitars do you have man? I feel like you have at least a dozen and a few basses. I know how it is, you you can never have too many. Cheers mate.

+EclecticHillbilly I heard that Jimi Hendrix lived with the Isley Brothers for awhile, before his career went big.
@morrisman64

That is true and also Prince lived with Andre Cymone for a year b4 his break and Andre wrote most of the early Prince hits
@jazzatnight
@jazzatnight 8 жыл бұрын
I had a hunch that Cymone was involved with Prince's early songs but he had that "Minneapolis sound" also, so Prince took all the credit.

Yes indeed Prince stole Andre groove for himself and all Prince offered him was a spot in his band and promise of a record deal
