I became a pro at this after we first bought our farm. It was overgrown with crab apple trees that have lots of thorns. we cut down and drug the trees to a burn area to get rid of them but in the process would run over thorns and get slow leaks on a monthly basis. My dad teased me that my front tires looked like a porcupine from all the plugs I had in them. Thankfully the back tires(on a 2wd tractor) are tougher and didn't seem to be affected by the thorns.

I have plugged tires with just the tire plug without the glue because I dont have any and have had success. The glue just helps seal it. Good video to show people that dont know how to fix a tire. I saw that box you made to sell your wood on 322 I knew your from around my area but didnt know you were that close until I seen the box yesterday coming home from Meadville.

I carry tire plugs and a 12 v air compressor in my pickup for just such occasions. My old F 250 is an '04 model and the many years ive owned it I've never had the spare out. Good to have these on hand.

I've plugged at least a hundred tires...car, truck, ATV, and never had a plug fail. I highly recommend Safety Seal plugs and kits, They are made in USA.
@PatrickWagz3 жыл бұрын
Through the years, I've collected about 4 of these "kits" of various manufacturers. All the big retailers seem to only want to sell you the kits.... and never just the plugs. Seems Amazon sells just the plugs for the brand you mentioned. So, Thanks!!

Plugged a lot of tires in the late 80's when I worked at a garage. One thing you didn't mention is that its easier to ream the tire and put the plug in if you fill the tire with air. A soft tire is a real bear to do that.
@dfarmer_2 жыл бұрын
Good video for plugs. The even easier way is put slime in your tires - then you don't have to put a bunch plugs in your tires for all the nails and crap that gets in them, and it self seals. We started sliming our small tires and will never go back! Have a friend that uses it in large payloader tires as well!

Having to demolish and old barn and got my first flat today. Looks like I'll be in search of a tire plugger here soon. But what if tire and bead has separated? My tire came off the wheel.

Easy as pie... I would like to mention the plastic tire plugging tools can be dangerous. I have seen one split during the install and and the metal rod pushed right through the back of a hand when you are pushing it in. Ever since I would only use a metal handle.

Still do for a quick get home fix...or just a last effort on some older tires. They work just not as well as the ones where you dismount the tire, get the goop, the circular patch with the stick deal ect. Plugs work ok just not legal anymore
@dougsmith90993 жыл бұрын
@@baileyhatfield4273 when did they become illegal
@baileyhatfield42733 жыл бұрын
@@dougsmith9099 Maybe it's just cause i'm in Canada or my part of Canada...i was told they are not an allowed fix. Also they banned having a car ect on 4 jackstands for idk tire rotations ect. Could just be where i live.

I used a drill to make my hole in the tire since the T plunger that came with the kit just wouldn't go in no matter how hard I pushed.

I've plugged may a tire. Cars and recently my kubota. After doing a lot of brush clearing I kept getting thorns and sticks in my front tires. One plug in the right and two plugs in the left with a small leak again, I ordered some multi-seal and put some in each front tire. Problem solved.

Good to know how easy it is, thanks Adam. I had 3 flats all at once on my new bobcat ct2025 last week and I brought them to the tire shop. One of the rear wheels had come off the bead. What do you think of the ether trick to remount the tire?
@baileyhatfield42733 жыл бұрын
KZbin some videos lol. It can be done and it's not BAD, BUT HOLY SHIT, if you don't get it right, that tire will come at you and break something BAD. Maybe if you have it on the vehicle, and then use it, sure. Or if its in one of those cages.

Adam, guy i know did the same thing. Bought almost the same cheap tools and tried to plug his leak. His plastic handle broke-gave way as he forced the plug down. Drove the metal spike up, thru, and out back of his hand. Please purchase set of tire plug hardware from professionals. Save you a world of pain and money.
@baileyhatfield42733 жыл бұрын
Guy had to be going pretty hard at it...i had most of my force/weight of like over 200 on one of these slime brand kids, the 2 plastic handled tools and the sticks and goop. Worked great, just had to twist it a decent bit to get it started. No way, for a small nail anyways, that you're gonna just pop it right down in. Hope buddy there is all good now, Sounds like a rough time.
