To each his own. I'm a fan of PPE. People shrug off the cancer warnings on all such chemicals until they start their chemotherapy treatments. Safer than sorry is usually the best approach. Same goes for eye protection. All it takes is one good eye injury (been there) before you rethink the need for a sometimes unwise "macho" I'll be fine attitude👍

It’s soo great seeing a tradesman like you very knowledgeable and light hearted. Soo many bad attitudes and angry men doing this stuff. Also they know just barely anything just enough to get the job done. If you ask them what are the code books for their trade they really have no answer. This is why I now work alone. Probably this is an open shop vs union shop issue. Most owners of open shop companies have a master endorsement and no employees have even a journeyman’s. So I think it’s a union vs non union company thing

Careful when adding things like multiple body sprays, rainfall shower heads, and other such amenities to a shower or tub faucet install. Need to make sure that your existing water pipes feeding the faucet are adequately sized to handles the additional water outlets. Undersized pipes can lead to water pressure issues with the shower or tub faucet itself or other surrounding fixtures using that same water pipe system.

Rodger I have a question. I was thinking of converting to a shower. So I live in a condo and on the first floor there are 4 units. If there ever is a sewer backup it backs up into out tubs. It happened once in the ten years I lived here and they all filled about 3 inches. Do you know if is any products that after you take a shower you can close off the drain preventing the backup into the shower? Thanks

How is this teaching anything? You tied it into a vent stack. Ok cool. How does this help someone actually remodeling a bathroom? Shouldn't you teach about no-hub bands at least? How is the person trying to learn from this video going to learn how to tie into the actual sewer line AND the vent stack. What if it's just a sewer line and the vent stack is somewhere else? Should the person learning be concerned? I like you. I like your videos. But c'mon man. Think of the audience this video is aimed at.

@@waltercortese9946 ....That's not at all what I said. I said "what if it's just a sewer line and the vent stack is somewhere else" as in the vent stack isn't visible with the tub removed because it happens to be behind the toilet. Shouldn't the person trying to learn from this be aware of this possibility to avoid worry or confusion of why their tub seemingly doesn't have a vent stack? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand what I was saying.

Your first comment you said he tied into a vent stack. Then you said what if it was a sewer line and the vent stack was behind the toilet. Sounds like you are a bit confused. I guess you have never heard of wet venting. Maybe the homeowner needs to remove Sheetrock and follow the pipe until it goes through the roof, is that what you are saying? Since you can’t figure out what a 2” pipe running behind a tub maybe you need to go back to trade school and learn about plumbing. Perhaps you could make your own video and share it since you don’t think this one is good enough.

If the tub has no vent line in the wall then you need make one on the trunk line that's running from the shower drain to the sewer line and then once the vent for the tub is ran inside the wall you gotta run it over head and tie it into the closest vent line and you have to use 2inch tee's for this and remember air goes up so make sure the fittings are flipped backwards and make sure you dont use a tee on its back its not code and to tie into the sewer you have too grab a wye depends on your sewer line size could be 3 or 4inch wye maybe a wye combo so you'll need a 4x2 wye combo or 3x2 wye combo like i said depends on your sewer size and you mentioned no hub bands so I'm guessing your sewer line is cast iron if it is you'll need a 5/16ths bit you can use it on a impact driver or they even sell torque wrenches that come torque specs w 60lbs of torque
