Luke and I are pouring a big concrete floor for this house today. We've got Joe here to help us and train with us. He wants to learn how to pour and finish concrete so he can start his own concrete business in Ohio.
What Luke and I have to do is get the concrete floor poured and be able to teach Joe the methods we use to rake the concrete, screed the concrete, level the concrete, and bull float the concrete. There are a lot of things happening all at the same time. We have a limited amount of time to get the floor poured but need to take some time to teach Joe.
This is how we begin to teach someone on the job when we pour a concrete floor.

This is great! I'm learning along with the guy you teaching! First timer here doing a 7mx7m concrete base for a garage and drive (this is the UK so we've way less space than you over there). I've spent the last 6 days taking up most of the old base with a Hilti 3000 hand-held breaker that's nearly broken me! One big section I can leave as is but had to dig out the top area (it's sloped) to get the new base down in the created recess and break out an existing raise area of poor concrete and basic bricks as bad hardcore. Got 2-3 more days on the breaker then using a trench rammer to break up the bigger cement blocks further. 40 bags of gardore then on top. Wacker it down. MOT1. Sharp sand. DPM. Mesh. C30 (+ fibre) pour! Only real tricky bit is putting a slope on the driveway - got to get my slop right! Subscribed to you and watching as much as I can. Thanks!

Hey Mike I tried using water reducer “mid range “ here in Florida. And I like the fact you can pour at a higher slump BUT to me it didn’t finish the same we had to crawl it more surface wasn’t closing up good then broom it. It came out good just seems to be more work.I may upload that video soon..Any tips?
