I totally agree with you that all the colors don’t coat the same. Just need time and experience to figure it out. Tight Lines Eric

Excellent video Eric. Do you always use white as a base coat even when you want to make other solid colors? Thanks for showing how you get multiple colors on the head with one heating. Do you ever get paint in the jig eyes after hanging and baking them in the oven? I need to give the torch a try. That was so quick & you didn't even have to rotate the jig when heating it. Well done.

Where do you buy your jig heads from? I dont believe Jason sells the wedge heads. Also when you tie what brand of vise do you use? Great videos!

Good video and very informative. I really like the tip to keep the eyes clear of paint by using the hemostats. I have been baking mine at 400-420, do you think that’s too hot?

G'day from Australia mate I like your painting video..I am surprised how you cure your heads hanging upside down. Don't you have problems with paint dripping and causing little noses on ya heads? I use heat magnets glued to a bit of steel angle bar that way i can stand my jigs head up...The magnets will take heat up to 200°celsius before corrupting...I know because i have corrupted them before. I now run at 175°celsius for ten mins..I dont know what that is in your Fahrenheit. If i was using automotive paints which i used to do for 15 yrs whereby i would paint a epoxy on the lead first to make my paint stick on the first coat which was usually white colour. That would make the auto colours pop out with 2 part epoxy clear being the finishing coats. However i have noticed since powder painting i do not need to follow the old routine of preparing my heads as powder sticks well when heated and the paint pops really well without a white undercoat. Anyway i have enjoyed your presentation and as usual your a gold mine of information...Keep up the great work Eric. Best Regards B.J.sCustom Baits Australia.

Eric, Is the air tumbler required. I have been just dipping the jigs in one of 3 colors. White, black, or silver. Than i sprinkle with paint brushes

What are you using for a filter on your PVC powder cups? The best thing I found for consistency and air distribution is the paper from a small brown paper bag.

Have had this issue too. #1, don't heat them as much, then you won't get as thick of a coat, less likely to drip. #2, make or buy a clamp rack to hold them upright instead of hanging by the hook. That way if the paint does run, it'll be down the hook where you can just break it off or tie over it. And some colors just run more. Chartreuse is a very runny color for me.
