@manueldelen83613 жыл бұрын
@@TheBlackTrumpeter thanks for your response, I've been playing clarinet for more than 30 years and started playing the trumpet 6 years ago, but that couldn't be combined with the mouth position of the clarinet. Two years ago I stopped playing the trumpet to focus more on the piano. But for some inexplicable reason I took up the trumpet again and since I discovered your lessons everything seems to work much better. And there is another reason, it turns out that playing the trumpet is very good for getting rid of my sleep apnea. The breathing while playing the trumpet would be very good for learning proper breathing. And what I also realize is that trumpet takes constant practice, when you stop it's restarting from oh or almost, but I've been very motivated since discovering your lessons. I'm still trying to figure out which mouthpiece to use. Now I play on a Bach 1 1/4 C have another 7c and a 3c. But I do realize that it is mainly practice that will help me further. But you have so many lessons that I'm kind of drowning in the offer. I like exercises and scales and the metronome a lot, but of course also a nice simple piece of Jazz or Blues. I'm using Google translate to send this email, so there may be some errors.

I would say tone quality and consistency. Taking time to build decent chops, find the right mouthpiece, etc. I am taking lessons and they help a lot. Currently liking the Rudy Muck 19C.
@TheBlackTrumpeter7 жыл бұрын
One thing that helps build consistency in your playing is to have a daily maintenance/warm up routine which allows you to let the lips vibrate with ease using your air, free of any unnecessary tension and pressure. Here's an exercise you can do everyday at the beginning of your warm up routine. This helps develop your trumpet sound: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWWwdo2Vq71nbNU

Hey. I wonder is there any reason to play G with 1 3, or f# with 123 as u do in the video instead of 0(g) and 2(f#) ? BEcause all the time i use my 3rd valve(in C# for example) the tone goes off
@TheBlackTrumpeter5 жыл бұрын
Maddo dos the only time I use 1 3 for G and 1 2 3 for F# is when I play those notes in the lower octaves. But these are alternate fingerings that you could use in a special case. I would only use it if I need to alter the pitch while I’m playing and can’t quickly adjust my tuning slide.

i need an answer im looking into buying a trumpet and im wondering is this the entire range of the trumpet are they all the notes you can play on a trumpet ps i know there is higher and lower notes but they take years of prsctice to sound
@TheBlackTrumpeter7 жыл бұрын
Jakub Kopras there are no limits to range high or low (mostly high). But the most used range is F# below the staff to D above the staff...if you plan on becoming a lead player then the higher range extends to at least Double G above the staff...but the best advice I can give you is to not think about range as a separate entity outside of trumpet playing. It’s apart of the overall technique. Always strive to improve your technique. Be better than you were yesterday and your results will be limitless. Hope this helps! 👍🏾

I'm a comeback player struggling to get really comfortable with learning scales. Do you have any tips. I feel stagnant. Thanks.
@TheBlackTrumpeter7 жыл бұрын
Hey matamba kaalima, it depends on what you want to do with scales, like if you want to improvise with them. Here's a few things you can do besides playing them up and down: 1) play them in different intervals like 3rds, 4ths, 5ths and 6ths 2) play them in diatonic triads and sevenths 3) play them by starting on different notes of the scales (play the modes of each scale) 4) play them in patterns like in the Clarke book the second study There's unlimited things you can do to really get comfortable with scales. If you would like me to give you some personalized video response on what you're doing with scales ( or anything trumpet-wise) email me a video of your playing to theblacktrumpeter@gmail.com. Use the subject line "TBT Masterclass".

New to trumpeting and would like to know if when I practicing my major scales or songs do I always use my tongue to blow out every note?
@TheBlackTrumpeter4 жыл бұрын
Some songs have certain articulation markings that tell us when to tongue and not to tongue. My advice to you would be to practice scales both all tongued AND all slurred (no tongue). We have to build trumpet technique to be able to play both. You can also do combinations but that can be for another conversation since you're still new. Congrats on starting your trumpet journey. Have fun!
