Jakob Humer You are very welcome! Keep up the good work! If you want you can join the online basics course at kendo-for-life.com. It should help you with reviewing what you learn at the dojo!

I started kendo today and my Sebsei was teaching my to move my left foot first. I explained to him that my father got taught by Bruce lee former student William Chun and want to impress my father by learning kendo and to nove away from Wing chun. Im not a show off i done wing chun over ten years ago and im rusty now. Kendo is very different and i feel exhausted but i love it

Also the words are different. Im from a korean Kendo Club and so we call it like Ja ro and Oo ro for left and right. Also, we dont go over the vocaburary and terms in japanese but in korean. I went to a kendom tournament once and then a child came up to me and started making kendo jokes and i didnt understand him one bit becuase he was saying things i didnt learn. But from words and other terms, everything is still the same.

ok so once im done with the footwork in this video should i start with the basic men strike? anyone know?
@KendoGuide9 жыл бұрын
amon RA Once you are done with footwork, you are going to learn joge-buri, naname joge buri, and shomen (men) uchi. You must focus on coordination. The common mistake is that people focus on "swinging a sword" and forget about footwork.
