This video is outstanding in it's accuracy and realism. Getting back into Kendo after the Army, I hope to build back up to where I was before and surpass it. Thank you for this wonderful video on the most important aspects, the basics.

I am doing kendo and got last place at the last tournament. Could make a vedeo where you teach us a special techniqe. Or a move whe can develope further or sefs? Couse I wanna get stronger and my sensei is busy with the rookies.

+Karito Dragneel Thank you for your comments! There are no special techniques that brings you victories. What is your favourite technique. Men, kote, do? Polish up your favourite technique and learn the best timing to execute. I don't usually teach my students technique but have them do ONLY basics. Everything you need to know is in the basics. Watch carefully the techniques you want to learn. Figure out when and how to execute it. That is the quickest way to learn the techniques. What kind of technique do you want to learn?

are you hands blue from the dye in your uniform? Sorry i do not know the real name of your clothing. I am really enjoying your channel, and am thinking of getting involved in a local kendo dojo.

+Matthew Boerio It is the dye. Thank you for your kind words and tell us when you join a kendo club! Good luck!

In general - when you teach kendo, do you differentiate from kenjutsu, or would you suggest to apply for both equaly?
@KendoGuide6 жыл бұрын
kendo is derived from samurai swordsmanship so the basic movements and etiquettes are similar. But of course, kendo and kenjutsu don't share a lot of their movements. I want to value where kendo came from and also what kendo "invented" after being banned several times in the past.

@@KendoGuide i appreciate your video lessons; actually i am a kenjutsu practician. You would be very competent in explaining the differences and similarities of kendo, kenjutsu and iaido in a dedicated video. Would you like to do so?
@KendoGuide6 жыл бұрын
@@bluename4 That maybe interesting. I need to study though. I am not an expert in kenjutsu so I don't want to talk about it without knowing what they really do.
