Fire extinguisher is needed for the events I go to

I wrote a big rambly comment and then deleted it all! 😃 Keeping it short here: 1) thanks for making this, one of the first good focused videos I know about drift event prep. 2) build your car good so you don’t have to worry about things as much between events. Days and weeks during the off season are worth less than hours during the season. 3) make sure you have a place to sit down other than a car, and something else to drink other than just water (mineral water is great) 4) pack food - waiting in line sucks 5) have fluids for the car, like a full oil change worth, maybe even a filter. And enough distilled water to refill your cooling system at least once. 6) miscellaneous hoses and clamps are a good addition to zip ties, duct tape and self tappers. Extra nuts, bolts and washers cost next to nothing but can really help you out at the track.

Lone Star Drift cool little things that make the event run smoother that organisers could implement (that aren’t crazy expensive or labour intensive) and that drivers could demand from their local organisers so drift events get better all around everywhere!

Random question for Americans. Are s13 coupé still reasonable money over there? Thinking of selling my r33 and importing a nice clean 240sx (your lack of rust blows my mind!). Now r33s are legal there, I could probably make money and have a nicer car.

Where’d you get the hatch insert? And is it fiberglass or carbon?

Can you do a guide on what mods you need to make a stock car a drift car like all the suspension, brake, tire and differential stuff
@Z0neDrift5 жыл бұрын
You mean a welded diff and a send-it attitude? Optional are hydro handbrake and coilovers, they help but aren't really needed.

Has been gone over multiple times. Keep it as simple as possible, don’t overthink things and keep it safe. On most cars that aren’t a “sports car” from the factory (like non-M BMWs, non-AMG Benzs, etc) you’ll probably need some sort of a suspension upgrade. Whether it’s lowering springs and better shocks or full coil overs depends on the car and your budget. If the car doesn’t have an LSD and getting and fitting one is out of your budget, weld your diff. Make sure either the stock handbrake works really good, or better yet - install a hydraulic one. That way you don’t have to worry about stretching or breaking cables or the handbrake not locking up the wheels. Then go and actually drive the car and only do upgrades that you actually need, focusing on safety, reliability and handling, in that specific order of priority. Then drive the car a LOT. Only when the car is safe (passes tech every time without even thinking about it and doesn’t injure anyone without crashing it), reliable (you can drive full days with the car needing only basic maintenance besides fuel and tires) and handles predictably and in a way that you are happy with it, only then should you think about adding power. Do remember though, that adding weight (turbo or supercharger or a bigger, heavier engine) will mess with your handling. Adding power demands lots of supporting mods (fuelling system, better cooling, potentially a stronger clutch or other drivetrain parts, etc) and will cause extra expense not only in the build but in running it as well, starting from extra fuel and tire consumption to faster wear, stricter and tighter maintenance schedule and potentially more broken parts in either the engine or the drivetrain.

A good bucket seat, maybe a wheel, coilovers, hydro handbrake, welded diff and allot of seat time!!
