Total Hysterectomy this Friday due to cervical cancer. I’m 59 with 2 wonderful grown kids. So I’ve decided to just take out the whole broken bread machine instead of fussing with extensive testing. But I’ve done yoga and pranayama all my life and already have a freezer full of home cooked meals ready to go so I’m getting there. Now I’m working on holiday cleaning my entire house and workout room before Friday. 💪 🥳 I think I got this. Thx, ladies! 🥰🌻🥰

It's 3 weeks since my radical hysterectomy at 56 years. I am so pleased that I did weightlifting for 2 years before this as I think it really helped post operative. I also eat healthily which I'm sure played a part. I prepared food before and also took the time to rest. Slow walking from one week after, enjoying the fresh air. I realise though that patience is a big thing with recovery.

I’m one week post Sacrocolpopexy and partial hysterectomy (they left my ovaries and cervix) due to having all three types of pelvic prolapse. I’m currently rocking in my glider right now (thank you for that advice) as the post surgery gas pain and discomfort has almost been more difficult than my actual incision sites and vaginal pain. Wish I would have watched this video before but I’m going to go make some soups and stick to that and some healthy smoothies and get back into stretching as soon as I safely can, as well as focusing on my breathing. Thank you ladies. This has been such an emotional and physical roller coaster.

If I could add something for anyone watching. Before your abdominal hysterectomy..wax the area-of incision, Afterwards move, bend over the back of the sofa to get rid of gas. Lap hysterectomy also causes gas, pain in the shoulder. Don’t overdo it. A saucepan empty is really heavy after surgery, little things like that. Oh and yes everything works like it did before. Walking every evening just half a mile afterwards when you are ready is great. BTW best thing I ever did.

Thanks for the advice! I’m scheduled for total hysterectomy with ovary and Fallopian tube removal together with hernia repair in 2 weeks time. I lost one ovary and tube last year due to aggressive ovarian cancer. I’ve had endometriosis since age 12. Now 41. After my tumor removal surgery last year I really worked on my nutrition, exercise and stress. Still ended up with a big hernia so maybe I overdid the exercise. I’m feeling very positive about the surgery and am sure that the health changes I’ve made during the last year will contribute to a good outcome. Wishing you ladies all the best 🙏🏼

I'm going to have a total hysterectomy next week because I've had endometriosis since I was 15,had 3 or 4 laparoscopies, and had 1 child, was in remission for a few years and then I started having endometriosis symptoms again,my gynecologist thinks I may have adenomyosis, so this was my last straw and I agreed with my gynecologist that I wanted to have this procedure, because I know I will feel so much better,I also have a disorder called interstitial cystitis and it is a painful bladder disorder and the pain is unbearable when I have my period, so that was another reason why I'm choosing to have this procedure. I have already been preparing for this,I've been working out, doing yoga for over 6 months or more and I've been doing pelvic floor exercises for 6 months. I have already bought gas x for after surgery and i also bought stool softeners because i have bad constipation anyway. I'm nervous, but ready to go and i also purchased a new comfortable bed. Thank you for all the information. I will be drinking alot of water, fruits and protein and vegetables, i do like peppermint tea. Iam also 44 years old.My gyno is keeping my ovaries.

This was fantastic! Thank you 🙏🏼 Going in for partial hysterectomy in two days for fibroids. Not one mention from my surgeon/doc/gyno about how even if I retain my ovaries that they may fail. I had to do my own research to find that you also do not have to remove the cervix. Very important to know that you can keep your cervix as long as you have had normal pap smears and no history or family history of cervical cancer. My doc was very pushy about removing it because “you might get cancer” but I insisted that I did not want it removed. So hopefully all goes well.

I had a hysterectomy at 25. Had horrible endometriosis. Did 3 lap before I decide to have a hysterectomy. I had one ovary left in so I felt good. 9 years later the endometriosis came back from the one ovary. So I had it removed. Now with no ovaries at 34 years old I developed fibromyalgia. I’m a fitness nut and can no longer lift weights or run due to severe muscle and nerve pain. Had it now for 5 years. I do not take hormones. Not sure what to do. Acupuncture helps but is not a cure for sure. I got rid of one problem and in my opinion gained a worse one. Good luck to anyone deciding to do this. Hysterectomy that is I mean.

If I had to do it over, I would have watched more videos, I would have feasted like a king until the fast the night before and took a bunch of vitamins. Most importantly, I would taken the alternative to the morphine because I didn't know I would have a reaction and the side effects were comparable to the surgery itself, a double whammy. Lastly, Don't complain to the nurses about being in agony especially with the morphine or they will think you are crazy.

@@michelleinfo-vlog2449 Well, my operation was in 2018 but I remember that 1. the Morphine did not help with the pain, it just knocked me out. 2. I couldn't eat anything because my body was shut down from the morphine, it couldn't process anything. I had fasted for the surgery prior, so I was pretty hungry afterward. I ended up having to vomit everything that I ate with an already painful gash in my stomach. It was a terribly medieval operation to experience.

I’m not sure how I’d reacted as I’ve yet to experience it. I know based on observation that other IV pain meds also caused vomiting. I don’t think that you could eat that much if you had really large fibroids blocking you anyway. I’m glad you came through alright. I want the next 80 days to be all about self care and prep for this major surgery . i am undergoing laparoscopy total hysterectomy with the ovaries staying in place . my plan includes pelvic strengthening , movement , freezer meal prep for my family . I am 37 years old . I am very nervous but keeping my uterus would have a huge impact on my quality of life. i enjoyed this video . I have been dealing with endometrial hyperplasia for 3 yrs. Due to other things happening with my body that hormonal connected, I have made the decision to agree to a hysterectomy. But I was going for the removal of my remaining ovary some people are commenting on keeping it. I had to have my left ovary removed in 1984 due to an ovarian cyst while pregnant. The ovarian cyst, ovary, and my first child was born by ceas. So due to being post-menopausal and past ovary history I thought it is a wise decision. I would like your feedback if possible?

The decision to remove ovaries during a hysterectomy can depend on various factors, including your overall health, medical history, and the reason for the surgery. Ovaries produce hormones, and their removal can induce menopause if you haven't reached it already. This may impact bone health, cardiovascular health, and other aspects. It's crucial to have a detailed discussion with your healthcare provider about the potential benefits and risks of removing the ovaries in your specific case. They can provide personalized advice based on your health history and the reason for the hysterectomy. Additionally, seeking a second opinion can sometimes offer valuable perspectives on such decisions. ~ Vibrant Support
