I just performed my very 1st notarization after watching this video, it gave me confident! Thanks for the tips. Btw, NNA was a great organization. I used to be a Catering Manager who took care of their meeting services at Holiday Inn LAX. All their associates were professional and great to work with. Of course when I decided to be a Notary Public, I connected with NNA for training. They were so helpful and guided me through the entire process.

Hi! I have a few questions. I became a new notary and am purchasing the essentials that I need. 1. If you were to use an embosser and a stamp, does the embosser get placed next to each stamp or just one in the front of the document? If it is all, can you charge both for the embosser as well as the stamp or would you just charge it as one? 2. For online notarizations, I am confused how that works. Would it be an electronic stamp or would you need to print the documents, stamp it and then fax it back to the client? 3. I am seeing people speak on the blank certifications, what exactly is this? Once they sign do I keep this document, what about it would prompt me to bring extra when performing a notarization. 4. I live in NJ do you need a stamp and an ink seal? I see there are many options when it come to selecting stamps and they are also all different? 5. Lastly, I have seen notaries who take the document with them to signings and they have it marked as which and where should their signature be placed. Does the client provide you through email with the paperwork before meeting them, or do you see the paperwork for the first time when it is that you meet with them? Thank you for your help in advance! This was pretty extensive, I have been so confused.

Is a scanner or printer needed as a notary? What’s the difference between a notary signing agent and a regular notary? And where could I find my states notary handbook? Thanks so much ❤️
@barranichols85232 жыл бұрын
For general notary work you generally dont need a scanner. The difference between the 2 is a notary public just witnesses signatures, that's it - and charges per signature witnessed. A loan signing agent witnesses signatures AND knows how to walk a borrower through the loan signing process. ... That is the difference between a LSA and a regular notary public
@NationalNotary2 жыл бұрын
The main difference between a Notary and a Notary Signing Agent is the focus of their work. While Notaries encounter a wide variety of documents, Signing Agents specifically handle home loan documents. More information about the difference can be found here:www.nationalnotary.org/knowledge-center/signing-agent-resources/what-is-a-notary-signing-agent You'll also find state specific information in our Knowledge Center.

Hello, I’m a new notary in Texas and I’m confused on when I am suppose to use a acknowledgment, jurant, and the certificate to what I’m notarizing.
@NationalNotary2 жыл бұрын
Hello. You should ask the signer what type of notarial act they need. Notaries aren't allowed to choose the type of notarization on a signer's behalf. If the signer isn't clear on this, you may describe the different notarial acts - for example, the two most common notarizations are acknowledgments and jurats - and let the signer choose. You can learn about Notary certificate wording for your state from your state's Notary regulating agency website or your state’s Notary handbook. www.nationalnotary.org/knowledge-center/news/notary-links#State-Notary-Sites

@@charisse9440 Fees for notarizations are regulated by state law. But travel fees are separate from the notarization fee. “A notary public may charge a fee of not more than ten dollars ($10) per signature for each of the following notarial acts: “(1) Taking an acknowledgment. “(2) Administering an affirmation or oath. “(3) Attesting to or witnessing a signature. “(4) Taking a verification on an oath or affirmation. “(5) Attesting to or certifying a copy.” (IC 33-42-14-1[a]). Travel fees: “A notary public may charge a reasonable fee for traveling to perform a notarial act. The travel fee requested may not exceed the federal travel fees established by the United States General Services Administration” (IC 33-42-14-1[e]).

Now, when I do have a signing, how to do prevent nervousness, and what kind of paperwork am I expecting usually? What paperworks usually fall under acknowledgment and jurat? Do I bring extra print outs in case of a mistake and I am supposed to leave the signed and motorized paperwork with the person and just that’s it when I’m done ? Thanks
