Hi Somjit, I love your videos! They remind me of time spent in Malaysia with my grandparents. I would love to see a Rojak video if you don’t have one already ❤️

After this much of boiling and draining,will there be any nutrients remain 🤔!!
@HomeCookingwithSomjit8 ай бұрын
Hi @NeethuSMohan, for me, it's necessary to remove the bitter taste and make them really soft and tender. For me, just for this vegetable, it's ok if there isn't much nutrients left 😀 Hope it helps 😊

I used to reside in Bandar Puteri Puchong. That was in the new millennium onwards when many other areas are not developed yet. Suggest you watch how ppl in Sarawak cook this. They have been eating this decades, just cook it like any vegetables. The point is to bruise the leaves a little for absorption. The sap is not poisonous at all esp after cooking. Some pound it using pestle and mortar then cook. You can add anchovies, chilly, ginger, Lemongrass, pea eggplant or cook with stewed pork(pork consumers only) or pork skin(with some meat) all up to you. My observation: this vege absorbs oil.

Better cook in the pressure cooker for half an hour. Much softer than just boil like what is shown here.
@HomeCookingwithSomjit3 жыл бұрын
Yes, they can be cooked in a pressure cooker too 😀 A recipe is coming up soon for after preparing these tapioca leaves. Please stay tuned for it 😀

Too much washing, all nutrients and the taste is gone, bad cooking. We boil it and season with salt and pepper, done , it's delicious

Hi Somi Hmar, thank you for the comment 😀 This vegetable contains sap that numbs the tongue, so for my family, we need to really wash and boil until there is no more sap. Happy to learn that there are other methods of preparing this vegetable 😀
