Decent advice. I'd say around .50 cents a sq ft is the absolute minimum an experienced floor tech should except. If the floor hasn't been kept up in years, that quote goes up to $1 dollar and people WILL pay it. Always look at the floor you are quoting on. Take a lot of pictures. If the floor hasn't been stripped in a while, you'll need to strip it more than once.

There are so many factors that go into price, that there isn't one price that is right. It all depends on the condition of the floors, accessibility, the existing finish, the prep work required, the clientele, the going rate in your area. All of that factors in. Our videos are recommendations based on our experience, but everyone has the right to charge what they want to charge.

I'd agree but here in Oklahoma you will never get $10,000 for a 10,000 sq ft floor. $1.00 per sq ft might work for anything under 1,000 sq ft.

I did 20k sq ft for .75 cents a sq ft. They will pay if they want it done right. Especially if they haven't had it done in a long time. @@RUready4DTruth

They do make propane powered stripping machines. They are very heavy and awkward but if you consistently strip 10,000 sq ft + per night they can be well worth the cost & trouble.

Can you use a burnisher instead of a buffer?
@patrickhartley1122 Жыл бұрын
No. Burnishers are for smoothing out scratches in the floor finish and to bring the finish to a nice sheen. Never use a burnisher for stripping a floor or use it before cleaning a floor with an auto scrubber.

True story, when we first started doing floors, we thought we could use a burnishing machine for stripping and finishing. One of our employees was using a 1500 rmp burnishing machine and all of a sudden we hear screams from the other room. All the slurry was going everywhere and it was a complete mess. All of this to say, no do not use a burnishing machine to strip floors. You need a machine with a lower rmp (175). Thanks for watching our video and commenting!
