I use the DNP DS-RX1 HS printer. With the WCMplus and the Simplebooth software. I didnt realize that I could connect the ipad witha wired connection, I am going to try. The wireless connection is SO Inconsistent. I hope that solves my issue. I have been playing around with the wireless connection for so long. I keep thining I'm configuring something incorrectly.

Can this same method be used with the wcm2? And if so.. would this speed up printing time? I’m finding a long delay between pressing print and the printer firing up when wireless

I do not think the WCM2 supports wired printing like this. We recommend upgrading to the WCM Plus which does support it. Please contact DNP to be sure!

For the part where you used your computer, do I have to use a mac to configure or can I do it on my windows laptop?

You can use any computer including windows, so long as it has a modern web browser - ie. no internet explorer from 12 years ago!

Hi question. Do you really need the wcm plus to connect the ipad to printer? Does the dnp qw410 don’t have airprint?

Correct, dye-sub printers are USB-only in general. No wifi/network, which means no airprint. So yes you need the WCM Plus or Aircast Pro.

Hi, if you’re at an event where there is no wifi, but your ipad has cellular service, how would you print using the WCM plus? (Without wifi, but hard wired with ethernet and with cellular data).

No. iOS does not work this way - for example you don't install printer drivers on iOS

Yes I believe the WCM2 does support this but you can check with DNP to be sure. However, the spooling that happens on the WCM2 unit itself is what's slow, so this might not speed things up much at all. You're better off looking at the WCM Plus which is a LOT faster

No it will not speed up printing time very much because the WCM2 is mainly slow internally. We recommend upgrading to the WCM Plus
