Thank you very much! Have been looking for this solution! Extremely innovative and intelligent compilation with a lot of variations and potential use cases. I am afraid that with my beginner level Blender skills I will not be able to fully apply all this'd enable, but I'll try. Thank you!

I subscribed after this vid, it is totally incredible. There is so much value in it, it's totally amazing. I just want to say big thank you for this one. I will try to master this random shaders with your vid. Is there any chance to see more vids of the random character generator in the future?

Hey @FruitZeus - amazing tutorial. I was so in awe with the complexity of the nodes and your understanding of it all that I started laughing. Very cool stuff. I do have one question - can the effects of the random nodes be used outside of render mode? I intend to 3d print random objects and would ultimately need to export each random object as an obj (just to be specific). Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Bryan!! Thanks so much I am so happy to hear the tutorial was beneficial to you! Ahh yes the million dollar question. So to begin to answer this, I just have to say - man do I wish the random value of the object ID could be used ANYWHERE else in blender. Such a powerful feature that’s essentially tucked away inside the shader editor... Basically the reason for this whole tutorial is to essentially “hack” the geometry through the material (which is the only true place random values exist (AS OF NOW)). I have so many more little “hacks” to say the least that involve using the materials random data that I need to get out there. That being said, at the time of this comment, the only way to do it that I know of would be maybe a little hacky. Since you’re using displacement for this, you might be able to achieve the result you’re looking for by “baking” the displacement to an image texture. You could then add a displacement modifier to the mesh, and feed that image texture back into the displacement modifier using UV coordinates. You’d need a lot of mesh detail (lots of subdivisions) for this to work properly. That should be able to get you a physical deformation, rather than a rendered one so to speak. It might be a very technical process, but there’s potential for sure. Feel free to shoot me a DM on Instagram @LGard53 if you wanted to brainstorm your project idea in a little more detail.

Thank you for the tutorial!! how do you render these like Scene States in 3ds max so that everytime you render its a different, just like when duplicating but it hides the last one and replace and render the new one?

Hey, does the random hair displacement work in eevee ?
@FruitZeus3 жыл бұрын
Hey! so in this case, no it does not. This is cycles specific which is why the FZRandomizer is much more powerful and manageable for this workflow.

Is this possible in Blender 2.79?
@FruitZeus2 жыл бұрын
I honestly don’t know. If it’s not, it would be because they don’t have the object info random node, or they don’t have proper displacements available. But I don’t actually know. You’d just have to experiment and see if and where you get stuck.
@besmirhyseni90952 жыл бұрын
@@FruitZeus Thanks for your quick response man! Appreciate you! I think I kinda figured it out how to do it, but the displacements are not proper. When I add the texture coordinate to the displacement it just doesnt work at all. What is funny is that even in 2.93 in my case it doesnt work :( What do you think could be the problem man?
