unfortunately some models to did not come equipped with that option you will need a scanner or in ebay they sell a kit with a dongle and fob ready to program it

So how do I do it so that all prior remotes are not capable of opening the vehicle? And also I'm curious about the key itself and the immobilizer chip in it. I bought a used vehicle and they only gave me one remote and key and if I get both of these at the dealer and have them program and disable so all others cannot be used it's going to cost me $500!

if you want to add the remote start you need to buy the kit at the dealer and get your bcm reflashed to enable the remote start and it is abit pricey to do that job
