How to program the BOSCH silence plus dishwasher with no screen - including silencing the beeping

I made this video because there was nothing out there on how to program this particular make and model of Bosch. With no screen it is not intuitive and the manual and helpline weren't great either. Instructions include how to program for extra heat drying, amount of rinse aid and how to stop and lower the volume for the end of cycle beeping. This is my third Bosch and they are great dishwashers but all seem to have this odd beeping feature. Hope this helps you regain your sanity and get more out of your dishwasher!

Excellent. My profession (now retired) was human factors research and development. Bosch here has created the classic bad design. Non-transparent and awkward at the same time, not to mention that they clearly ignore their users' needs. I can confidently state that it does not take a rocket scientist (I was a researcher with NASA!) to recognize that beeping that can go off in the middle of the night is going to be annoying at a minimum, and for some highly disturbing. Excellent video! So glad you posted this! It's a mystery to me why Bosch doesn't include directions, in the manual, for turning off/lowering the volume of the "heck a lot" beeps. I actually found directions for turning off the "Cycle Completion Signal" (the official name for those beeps) posted in an online forum. I'm embarrassed to admit how mixed-up and flustered I became trying to follow those written instructions! Your step-by-step presentation really cleared up my confusion. The only thing I would add to your excellent instructions: I believe we're supposed to press "Start" to save any changes before pressing "On/Off" and closing the dishwasher door.

Thank you so much! One thing I had to do differently was to save the setting by pushing “Start” instead of On/Off. Once I used Start to save it, it stuck and kept the beeping setting I selected.

Thanks so much for this. Why would Bosch hide this information? I called their support line. Their answer was if you don't see it in the manual you can't do it. I got a firm no when asked if I could actually ask someone in technical support about this. This is poor customer relations at a high level!

This is my third Bosch, they all have the same feature to control but just different ways to access them ... so I got something similar when I called but just fooled around until I sorted it out as I figured the designers were using similar (or same) control boards between models and just changing the outside shell.

Great video! Thank you! I discovered that to SAVE the setting of "zero beeping", I actually had to press the START button (far right) to lock in the changes. Jumping directly to Power without hitting Start didn't save my changes.

The polar opposite of my rambling how-to videos. 😁 I live in a loft and the beeping, ohhhh the beeping!!! 😡Start a wash @ 10:00PM and have to get up at midnight to open the door and get a steam facial because it will beep 5 LOOOOONG BEEEEEEEEPS in a row, EVERY HOUR... FOREVER. WHY BOSCHE, WHY!? My pores don't need to be steamed open at that hour. Like, give me 3 short blips a mid-volume and then stop. Just stop. I'm not an idiot. I can deduce that my dishes are clean the next morning. Also, why don't ALL manufactures just come out with How-to videos like this!? Just go through the steps to the video and copy her. Then you will understand and it becomes intuitive. Also you can reply to my comment if you need help.
