I just stumbled across this video, and from a Hebrew speaker's perspective I think you're doing a great job. I don't know how this helps you but I just thought that this video is good so why not give a compliment... :)

It's so refreshing to see someone with an American accent pronouncing Hebrew correctly! I've seen so many Americans on KZbin trying to speak Hebrew and failing miserably, they always sound American. It's frustrating for people like me who are trying to learn Hebrew. I will be checking out more videos on your channel, thanks :)

Your videos are very good. You look so much like an Israeli and have the accent down so well, that if you didn't tell your viewers, they wouldn't know you weren't. Great Job! You are truly talented!

I live in a University Town Ohio University. And I ran into a Chinese student at a local laundromat. And his English was so Southeastern Ohio it amazed me he just really truly simulated the accent. It was amazing and his English was very good. 2 years he's been a student at that time. And I've been trying to learn Hebrew for about for now and struggle struggle struggle but I'm not going to quit. I may be old but I'm persistent LOL

Thank you so much for sharing this, Dale! It's truly amazing to hear others master our pronunciation. Remember that it doesn't have to take a ton of time if you know exactly what to focus on... and more importantly what not to waste our time with. I hope this series helps you progress. Look for more soon!

Your welcome,and you help immensely and I thank you for that. Any help I can get it's greatly appreciated.what's the best way to train your ear to understand somebody speaking Hebrew .it's usually too fast for me and I just catch a word or two. And just expanding vocabulary.if I could just hold a basic conversation and be able to ask if I don't. Don't have money to pay for good courses or a good PC just my Android phone . hard to find to learn basic Hebrew without seeing the same old things repeated all the time like what's your name how are you where are you from Etc

@@daleknight7433 I would continue to use KZbin for as much free content as you can, but one tip I can give you for comprehension is to realize that not everything is best translated word for word, and even in initial greetings you might find very 'idiomatic' phrasing and I would try to learn fixed phrases that you hear other natives use and just work on finding the right environment to say it in. One I love is מה שבא לך ma she BA lecha / lach - meaning "whatever you feel like". Even if someone asks me a question I don't understand, "masheBAlecha" fits a lot of the time (or at least gets a laugh). There's always a hump to get past when learning vocabulary at the beginning. Make sure you learn the right words in the right groupings. Something to start with! And it was free!

I just saw this lesson. I tend to make all the mistakes you outlined however my Ulpan coach tells me not to worry too much about pronunciation at this point. I am at the low intermediate level. I certainly do not say Basader but my Falafal is pretty bad.
@Linguistix4 жыл бұрын
At which stage does your Ulpan coach tell you that pronunciation *is* important? I mean, I wouldn't stress too much, but habits will form, and if your goal is to sound Israeli, these vowels are where the accent will show through the most... לֹפי דעתי
