please, is the /p/ sound is made without a puff of air in the /sp/ cluster as in speak /spik/ , spring noun /sprɪŋ/ .
@Coopos4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are right. The /p/ does not have a puff of air when it directly follows /s/ as in speak /sp/. I forgot to talk about this in my video. Sorry.

Great video, thank you. I am finally learning how to pronounce well. When you pronounced 'photo' I heard you expressing the t as a d. Is that right? I looked in the online dictionary and saw that the t had a dot beneath it. Do you know what that mean?
@Coopos7 жыл бұрын
Yes, I pronounced the t as a d in photo. Maybe the symbol you saw looked like a tiny v. A t with a tiny v below it is the symbol for the flap, which is the sound I make. I talk about the flap in my /t/ /d/ video at about times 13:45 and 39:00. A dot below the letters n and l means the letter is syllabic - it is making a syllable as if it also contained a vowel.

I can't pronounce the unaspirated p sound, such as these words apple, super , copper. In these words the p sounds like a / b / to me . Could you give me some help about the unaspirated p sound ? Thank you for your help!

When /p/ /t/ or /k/ is in /sp/ /st/ or /sk/ it is made without a puff of air
