@@Coopos Hello Dennise, we appreciate ALL of your videos, and the fact that you are sharing your knowledge and lessons with the rest of the world. Please come up with a video of phrasal verbs, and another one with american slangs and idioms... if possible. For example, I´ve seen a lot of conjugations with the whatever verb+ the word "off", and I ´m really interested to know when and how to use it, during my regular conversations. I´m sure that we´ll all take advantage of these two topics. Have a great day!

Good day teacher. Excellent pronunciation lesson as usual. To me it's very important to be aware of what's going on in my mouth when pronouncing words. I understand the difference between the tip of the tongue and the front part of it, which should be raised. However, I don't know what the tip should do. Does it touch the back of the bottom teeth, or do you have to arch it down so it touches the soft tissue? I'd appreciate you could clear that up for me. Greetings from Colombia!

Your explanation is quite detailing that covers every aspect of the lesson. I would be glad if you make a video on the words starting with e. Eg. Enjoy, excellent, extra, envelope. Is there any rule for pronouncing these words or we need to mug up the pronunciation of each word. Like enjoy is pronounced as injoy, extra as ekstra, envelope as aanvlup.(I m not good at writing IPA). Try to make a short video or please explain in the reply if possible. Thanks.

how is this sound /s/ denoted in script? just the same way or any other characters used to denote this sound?
@Coopos6 жыл бұрын
Hi. The sound /s/ can be denoted by letters s, c, x, and z. The sound /z/ can be denoted by letters s, z, and x. I begin talking about this at 6:37 in the video.

Is there a phonetic symbol which denotes the sound /s/?

When I raise the front of tongue up to near the ridge, my tongue tip will stick behind the lower teeth. Is this wrong? Thank you!
@Coopos6 жыл бұрын
The tongue tip should be pointing up. However, the /s/ will still sound fine if your tongue tip lightly touches the lower teeth. Try not to push your tongue too far forward, though.
