I teach using just one of many accents in the world. Please only learn it if you like it and if you are interested in learning it. I do not believe there is one “correct” accent or manner of pronunciation and I fully encourage EFL/ESL learners to expose themselves to as many varieties of English around the world to become accustomed to the beautiful variations of this world language. I focus mostly on teaching “Modern RP” (I may just say “RP” in my older videos, but to clarify, I do specifically mean “Modern RP”), however, you will hear a lovely little Yorkshire twang to my accent from time to time too. Please LOVE and BE PROUD of your accent. After all, it is part of your identity and makes you unique. 💚

I am new to your channel. All the content you put on your channel is benefitting me in a big way. I am learning many things which i had been unaware of. I have a question and need help with it. I often interchange the 's' and 'sh' sound when I speak. It comes out interchangeable by default. The other question is, in words like succession, possession and other words having two 's' consecutively or two words where, S is the last letter in first word and S is the first letter in second word, i struggle pronouncing correctly. I fumble most often in such words. I need your support in giving me tips to practice, so that i can improve on such words

Great lesson Emma! Thank you! I am obsessed with English pronunciation. I know that the "s" in the adjective or verb " loose", unlike the word "lose", is voiceless. So, is the "s" of the third person of the present simple voiced both in "he loses" and "he looses" ? I can't think of any other words containing an intervocalic voiceless "s" off the top of my head. I will be waiting for another release of yours!

3:39 isnt it supposed to be I`d like you to tell me what kind of ending it has? Im hearing quite often that natives are saying I`d like you to tell me what kind of ending does it have and. I mean its clearly a mistake but it seems like its done purposely and I wonder why
@Pronunciationwithemma
@Pronunciationwithemma 6 ай бұрын
It depends, if you say it as "I'd like you to tell me... what kind of ending does it have?", then this is correct as you're saying two things: the "I'd like you to tell me" and then quoting the actual question. Saying "I'd like you to tell me what kind of ending it has" isn't a question, but more of a "command", let's say. Does this help?
