In my experience good luck getting a roofer to do it like this. Do this: Read the manufacturer's installation instructions on nails, number of nails per shingle, placement and depth of nails and then watch the typical roofing crew. Be prepared to be totally frustrated.

You’re absolutely right about the nail placement but far as the nails being nailed where there are they are too low water can run underneath the shingle look how far the nails are down I have went to job’s exactly like this over a 100 times were the nails are exactly the same nailed too far down and water run underneath it and cause a leak water always don’t run downhill. It can run, uphill and settle. No Diss just facts. And being these are cheap shingles which doing this for over 35 years and the tar line will not seal bc there barely is one there for one too stick and keep water from going underneath it. Timberline has the same issues which is an architectural shingle Lowes carries or use to carry that does not seal properly to keep water from going underneath it and if you use that shingle, your nail placement has to be high to prevent water from going into the nails.

The doubled portion of the majority of standardized architectual style shingles (The middle section joining the top half with the bottom held together only by a bitumen strip) is only 5/8" wide, and if not nailed directly in the line delineating the center of this strip will cause the two sections to slide & separate on steeper pitches in hot weather and also allow failure due to minimal windshear if nailed incorrectly.

Water isn't intended to reach the nails as the top shingle is covering it. Improper nail positing will affect the systems ability to resist wind uplift. I also have to add that if you don't follow the nailing pattern recommended by the manufacturer, you commonly void your manufacturers warranty.

In my opinion, it’s inevitable that water will get into the underneath of this type of roof through the seams when wind blows backwards in rainy days.So for this type of roof, water shields under the shingles are vital, water shields should be glued to the surface not nailed, because each nail hole is a hazard of leaking, however it’s inevitable to use nail to keep this shingles,so leaking is for sure

Yeah that’s wrong. Minimum for architectural shingles is 5 nails, should really be 6 if you want the correct and highest wind resistance. The nails should also be evenly distributed to disburse the load from the weight of the shingle and the force of the wind. The nail heads being in those locations is not a problem if you actually use an underlayment like you’re supposed to and as is required by most building code.

Am I the only person who sees that the shingles need to be placed an inch or so lower. The bottom of the shingles are not touching the lower glue tab. Therefore when the roof heats up and the glue activates it doesn't have any piece of shingle to attach to. The wind can pick up the shingles with ease. I'm not a shingles Man, but I still saw it.

I’m a slate roofer from the uk and our British standard is the nail has to be 75mm/3inches away from any bond/head lap/overhang so this proper confuses me how you nail so close to the tail of the shingle without it leaking I mean surface tension alone should pull the water 25mm up under the single due to the laws of physics and yet every shingle roof I see is done this way watching this makes me cringe man.

The shear stress on that end nail with no nail near it will exceed the allowable stress in the shingle and it will rip up and take all the shingles above it as they will have even more stress. This guy is voiding your warranty for a ridiculous reason. Don't do this, don't hire anyone who wants to do this. Real roofing nails driven correctly are not affected by water running down.
