Yeah! I've mained blasters for a couple years and realized the recovery isn't as bad as i thought. It's a great kill option also. Same as groundpound. It's risky but things as insta gp rewards so much!

Using recovery first leaves you extremely susceptible to weapon throws regardless of how you steer it

True, but that's often the case with jumps too since neither give you invulnerability frames. In the third clip 0:15 you'll notice I use a dodge first when I see them queue up the weapon toss. I'm just advocating that people prioritize exhausted recovery in more situations, not necessarily that it should be used exclusively over jumps and dodges.
