I was a painting contractor in my previous life. I would like to share some suggestions..First off you did an awesome job prepping the floor. Before you ever use any type of sealer, paint or stain on a concrete floor (especially in the northern states) find out what month the floor was poured because if it was winter time there is a higher probability that an antifreeze agent was added to mix in order to not freeze before curing If so, whatever you use make sure the product you use guarantees a bond. Second thing is tip can products upside down prior to using it. It's a lot easier to stir the chemicals from the top of the can downwards vs trying to stir them up.
@roblong6518
@roblong6518 Жыл бұрын
The Euclid company also makes a curing and sealer product that is applied on the green concrete, typically the same day as pouring, by spraying and or rolling on. This saves having to do all the prep, and protects for when the building is going up. Works great, I've used it for years and both my shops have had it done when we built them. Looks great, and you'll really like how it sweeps, and cleans up. 👍

yeppers.....if I had to do this again...I would have sealed it the day after the pour...however you have to take into account the dogs, cats and other mess that can blow up on the floor. That's why I waited...although it was much more inconvenient

Nice floor. I normally use a cure & seal as soon as you can walk on it. Less prep & helps the overall strength, but I use a sprayer then back roll, better coverage, quicker, etc... I've only used everclear for stamped or colored concrete (or when making cocktails, lol!). BUT, you'll love the floor & good job preping! Just watch spills, they'll be slicker than wet snot, hate to have a slip&fall... Thanx !

Great job! I'm at the beginning of building a 40 x 80 steel barndo - half will be my house and half a workshop.
