I did not know that the auto center punch could do that so I bought one and was hammering the auto punch like it was a regular punch. Frustrated because the metal on the end plate did not move to connect with the castle nut notch so I came back to KZbin to look for other videos on how to stake a castle nut and stumbled upon your video. Thank you so much for showing how it's done with the auto center punch to stake the castle nut! You saved me a lot of headaches and frustration!

Harbor Freight sells an auto center punch for $ 3.99 and it works like a charm.

Great video. I staked all of mine after watching this video. I did use a small punch first. Then followed with spring loaded punch.

Two tips for the price of one! Great video, short, to the point, very helpful. I've been avoiding doing this because the first time I tried it didn't go well. Had no idea the spring loaded punch could do that.

mine is not doing that lol I have been swinging on it for an hour, its barley budging. I have the magupul qd end plate, I think its made out of way stronger material
