If the toilet bowl is on tiles, I'll use Silicone and not use the bolts.

​@@TechWallsReview Both can be used. Although, a siliconed bowl with no bolts will never move or rock when on tiles. And removal is quick and easy with a broad knife. Plus bolts that aren't stainless rust over time.

You did not attach the bolt to the flange first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't have to, the nuts are just used to properly position the bolts and keep them straight. I used plastic washers there and they work well.
