Also don't forget, in most Nautilus type machines the seat back will also determine your knee placement. With the leg extension and seated leg curl machine Mike demonstrates, make sure your knee joint is in line with the axis of rotation of the cam (the big odd shaped wheel looking thing to his right). So, keep that in mind when adjusting the seat back. Apologies if he's mentioned that somewhere before.

Remember leaning forward on the leg extensions actually removes a lot of the emg activation on the upper bulkier part of the quad and transfers the bulk of the contraction down to the tear drop. Thanks mountaindog for confirming that in his recent video. Defo want you body on a incline for maximum overall quad activation. But agree.. controlled form
@CoilFYZX2 жыл бұрын
I was gonna say...but well said. And yeah not distracting from the overall message of this video; it still gets a gold sticker from me. But I personally find that leaning back with controlled reps allows me to activate more areas of my quads as I go through my programming.

don't believe barbell back squats will build your legs much. i see many people only do those, and most have small legs. machines = awesome mind-muscleconnection and pump = growth. walking lunges build my lower body way more than barbell back squats ever did and i don't even do bb squats anymore, my legs and glutes have never been bigger.
