Thanks for the suggestions. I like the idea of using an old hose as a soaker! Good one. We just put in a drip system and it’s a timesaver.

Before putting soil in the planters, I’d suggest running the irrigation tubes up through the drain holes. Hides really nicely. I learned this from Garden Answer 😊

Now that I’m retired, I love watering my containers early in the morning with a cup of coffee in hand! Thanks to you, Vista Bubblegum petunias are my all-time favorites...the most prolific and dependable annuals. I’d love a video on how far to prune them back and when to avoid all the dead brown stems that appear this time of year.

Hi Allen. Great video! One recommendation for hiding the dip hoses. When making new planters feed the tubing up through the drain hole.

So helpful, thank you! I just found your channel several days ago and I have been binge watching ever since! A video on rhododendron care would be wonderful if you're looking for ideas.

Water ealy in the morning or during nightime when the grass is already wet 12am to 6am. If you water at sunset or 6pm to 9pm this will possibly cause disease because the longer the grass is wet the greater the chance. Also only once a week for longer durations, this will produce deeper roots, if water everyday the opposite will happen, shorter roots that cant stand up to the summer heat. .5 of a inch to 1 inch of water per week if no rainfall occurs

P.S. I've seen where they take the drip thru the bottom of the pots to the top soil level and add the drippy tip thing. The bottom of the pot is supported by small pieces of what ever is found (flat rocks, pieces of broken pots ect.) This is done so the hoses won't be pinched. I just hope I'm right. Anyway Allen, good luck!

I want a drip system but I just don't want to see any plastic hoses. They should make clear ones. Anyway, thanks for the advise I'm gonna keep considering those options. Until then, I'm gonna just hand water for the meantime. Rain, rain come again!

There is some that you can bury, although more expensive. Garden Answer also buries the non-buriable ones. Anyway, I have mass planted and you cannot see the hose.

Thanks for the tips on water!!! But my echinacea I planted now look black..like burning even though I water them constantly... I still see green leaves do you think they're going to survive? I thought echinacea was supposed to do well in full sun... I live Florida zone 10a.

Hi. I just had to stop the video. You do a great job of talking to your viewer until. Until you aren't talking to him or her or me anymore. The director switches to camera number two and you don't turn with it. So suddenly you're talking to empty space because, hey! I'm over here now. Once you start talking to the lens you have to continue to talk to the lens that's operating. If you don't...well you know. Take a look at the video. It says it all. Back to you.
