Knee length or just above the knees are classed as Bermuda Shorts [The Bermudas] Real shorts are that are mid-thighs onwards like they were in the 1970s , 80s ,and partly the 90s. Admittedly l like to wear mine about 3-5 inches inseam. And also i,m now seeing some men wearing shorter shorts in places! UK.

You got that right. The current knee length men's "shorts" look just plain dorky. Even basketball players are wearing short shorts again over the long baggy stuff that's been around for the last 25 years. Same thing goes for so called "Jammers" (knee length bike shorts). Time to bring back the pre-90s version ASAP.

Shorts can be whatever length that you want them to be. If you're comfortable wearing them and they flatter you who cares about the inseam length. Also it's button front shirt not button down shirt. Button down shirts are button front shirts that have collars that can be fastened to the shirt using buttons.

4 inches above the knee is max. For reference I am 5’5 and wear 7 inch shorts. Driving loafers, minimal sneakers or fashion slides like Ralph Lauren on feet.

Agree George. I am 50 and dress well. In the summer I love chinos and even my white denim. I’m frankly tired of hearing that shorts should not be worn (unless near a body of water) and not by men over 40. If done right I think shorts are great. I love that you are open to them as well! Keep up the great work.

Shorts should be 2-5 inch inseam when you have proper trained legs. Only if you have chicken legs, longer shorts are acceptable.

I never look at short inseam. The same lenght of shorts can hit in different spot on 2 guys with The same height. Because one of them can have a longer legs. Most of my shorts hit about 2 " Above knee. Only jeans short just above the knee because i think when go higher they look too much feminine(In my weirrd taste)

Another preference question but do you think jeans look good with leather loafers or do you feel they look better with a more casual shoe? My Toms look really good with my jeans but wanted to know your thoughts. Personally I'm no longer in the sneaker phase..Converse and Vans don't intrigue me anymore same with basketball shoes even when I was in college and high school I hated basketball shoes lol..

You can wear loafers with jeans if your denim is slim and hemmed properly. If your denim bunches heavily at the foot it may look a little off.
