This is amazing lol you're one of the only people on the internet making in-depth videos for the 2024 mt-09! I really enjoy watching these.

Everything off, mode 1 and pop power wheelie in 1st gear to get used to the front wheel going up before trying clutch wheelie 😊

Yeah you can try rolling it up on 1st, it's a good way to get the front up a little and get a feel for it

I'm not sure if it's the best idea to start on that bike with the TCS and LIFT turned off. I also have a 2024 MT-09, and I did my first power wheelie in street mode with everything set to 2. Now, I'm continuing with map 2 and everything else on 1. All of these were just attempts at power wheelies. I haven't tried clutch wheelies yet. But I'm a bit scared to turn everything off. Wouldn't it be better to keep everything on 1? By the way, how would you compare clutch wheelies to power wheelies? With a clutch wheelie, the bike jump a lot, and it's kind of a shock, but with a power wheelie, you're prepared.
@pierreparaveman36652 ай бұрын
Clutch wheelie gives a lot more control to your wheelie mid air cause you have a lot more range of rpm if you want to chase the wheelie. And you have the less powerful part of the powerband, as in the power wheelie only let you get the last part of the rpm range to play with, so it's a lot more twitchy and reactive. and you have more chances to loop. But to start to learn the rear brake reflex, start with small power wheelie and bring the bike back with your rear brake, keep doing that over and over until you get more height and control to do it with clutch wheelie.
@frankfeng61992 ай бұрын
LIFT gives you false sense of security, better to learn with it off and respect the power, you can still loop it with it on previous mt09 owner and current mt10sp owner

@@frankfeng6199 its really better try clutch with off wheelie ? Its not better with 1?

good video! Do you always clutching it up or do you powerwheelie too? as in the video it looked like it was only clutching it up, right? I tried the other day with powerwheelie but didnt go so good, didnt managed to get it up and had the lift control at 0. but maybe have to try disable tcs too? I just need to get rid of the fear and keep practising. and I agree witg Mt09cp3 here above, aint it more scary with clutching it up as it "suddenly" lift instead of a more steadily with the power when it comes up?
@INFAMAS2 ай бұрын
Power wheelies are a bit more scary and unpredictable, I do them sometimes. But it's only rolling on the throttle. And the speed of the lift depends on how much throttle and how quick you drop the clutch so you can kind of control how quick it comes up. But yeah, it can be scary at first

With everything turned on but at their lowest setting (lowest intervention) I find that it's really hit or miss with power wheelies, and it won't do them in 2nd gear or above (2nd gear feels so weak and neutered to me that I hardly ever tuning comes from factory in Canada). With TCS on, you can't clutch it up at all, well I was able to once, but it slammed me right back down instantly. I guess I'll have to completely turn off TCS and try in 2nd or 3rd. Why don't you do 3rd gear wheelies? Just don't want to be going that fast?

Hi infamas, Is it possible to ride one of these mt09sp's hard without it wheelieing ? Say on a track day or fast roads if you were out racing your mates. If the front keeps coming up you arnt going forwards without knocking off.

Put it in LIF mode and it won't come up nearly as much while still on full throttle
@aleksandrkorovin15242 ай бұрын
I bought MT09 not SP, and I like this machine, but I have couple questions, second gear have almost no torque until 7000rpm, but 1st and 3rd gear have a lot from 3000rpm, it’s same for you? Or it’s probably all this traction controls and other assistants cut power, I’m in break in period , I didn’t change modes yet or settings, after 1st service I want to play with settings a little, and another thing, with clutch it have this helper to start moving and when I’m trying give more throttle and release clutch it’s somehow cut more throttle power for half second, do you feel same? Or it just new and I need to be used to it?

Very much the same for all of us. You’ll need to get a flash and unlock the ecu. There’s a lot a restrictions on this bike that really take the hooligan away from it lol. I’d recommend getting it flashed by vcyclenut or 2wheeldynoworks.
@daniboy_tv2 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, both 1st and 2nd gears have been heavily restricted in the ECU by Yahama for gen 4. The only thing to fix it is to reflash the ECU, which I have heard makes the bike a whole other beast.
@arshag142 ай бұрын
@@daniboy_tv you are very right sir! I have reflashed my bike two weeks ago (2024 mt-09) and got great results. The engine does its work wayyyy smoother in all the gears, but especially in 1 and 2. The bike is less ‘shocky’ in low rpms as well. If you are going to do a flash, i suggest putting a new exhaust on the bike before hand so your sound experience changes a bit. I personally recommend a akrapovic system for the bike.
@MazuroPL2 ай бұрын
@@arshag14 I can recommend these 2 channels @vcyclenut @2wheeldynoworks which make cool videos on exhaust systems for mt 09. I am picking up mine MT 09 on September 23 and after watching a few videos on these channels I am considering sc project or yoshimura, I am not even thinking about acrapovic
