I do the same but put a compost bag over the if frost is forecast lower than -1. 👍🏽👍🏽

Yes that'll work for a short period of time. You just don't want too much humidity to build up inside the bag.

Stuck my Peko and I think southern splendour? in the shed this year while they were still in pots. Might just say screw it next year and plant them out.

I had a decent sized Peko out for a few years and never protected it at all and last winter killed it strangely enough. Southern Splendour is a tender plant but if you do as I've done in this video and add a fleece bag or just fleece it in the worst of days it'll give them a good chance. If you can plant them under something taller to give them that overhead protection that can honestly make a huge difference.
