This was a GREAT video. The transformation on the first shrub especially was so satisfying, even though initially the pruning looked dramatic. You were able to demonstrate how effective a thorough, knowledgeable pruning can really improve the look & health of a plant. Thank you! I’m totally enjoying this autumn in-the-field series.

Sometimes you have to be a bit brutal to trimming shrubs. I do that is a branch is hitting me in the face as I walk by. Thanks for the helpful tips.😃

I have a large hydrangea that has multiple heavy flower heads- I worry about snow falling and breaking the branches- should I prune it now, or should I wait till spring? I’m in zone 5B in Ontario. Thank you, Rosy.
@rosyhardy182 сағат бұрын
I would prune yes. You can dry the flower heads and use as winter flower arrangements

Calacarpa usually pruned late winter before it flowers and if you need to reshape it them do that after flowering
