Excellent presentation! That breaks down the differences in "fast triggering" better than I've heard it from most people. I still take too much time at those short, easy shots! And, you not once mentioned "pinning the trigger" which is probably the dumbest thing ever - Ernest Langdon taught me that this is going slow at the least useful time and he's right! He also taught us to start the prep on the double action of our precious 92s during the draw. Because the double and single both break at exactly the same spot, the makes it no different, beyond longer travel.

Yeah, I completely agree that if you know how to pull the trigger correctly, you can shoot like a boss. It has been proven in LITO VALLES PSD that you can even hit a toothpick at 12 yards and the target plate at more than 20 yards far just holding the upside down gun with your two fingers only. Sir HUMBLEMARKSMAN is absolutely correct.

Concerning prep & press, why that instead of just pulling trigger, releasing just until reset, then you're ready to press again. Wouldn't that be faster than taking your finger off the trigger then taking up the slack? Kinda new to practical shooting, obviously lol

Good stuff. I'd like a video about your movement and how you drive your eyes through the course, maybe slowed down with commentary. Glasses that track the eyes would be outstanding, maybe at some point you can get a hold of some or borrow them. So much is eye related. A how to train your eyes to get faster video. The benefit of different holds in different contexts with iron sights + cowitness/third with a dot. A video about moving in and out of a position with detail on weight shift, wobble, regaining your stand or finding a stand that would work in the weird position atm. Good video.

Couldn’t you have just slowed your slap down to .25 ish to get good A zone hits and maintain a good split speed? All I’m saying is, you got a ton of A zone to use there at that .36 split. Excellent video!! Always enjoy watching!
@sgtbillsilvia11003 жыл бұрын
Have you tried to slow the trigger slap at distance? It’s a controlled trigger press but with no stop after a prep. Most shooters who think they prep and press quickly are really not doing it. Slow motion video shows that many are actually slapping but slower.
@inquisitivemind81362 жыл бұрын

Good day I hope you can add to my knowledge set, when I shoot fast and transition I catch myself tracking my red dot above the target and as I pull the trigger the dot pulls down and I hit the steel plate. What is the root cause and how best to fix this. My follow up shoot therefore also tend to be low. I am not a beginner, but I find myself doing this when I go fast and have less time to focus on fundamentals, but I am unsure on how to fix this?

Shot 2,000 rounds today with Frank Garcia working on grip and trigger prep. Say slap the trigger to him he will scream😁. Out to 5 yards he says slap away, after that, they become more dangerous the further you get. At 25 yards prep is paramount. Good vid. My forearms are sore!

@@bshadrick I use to buy 1K at a time, but since you pay 1K for that I've started just buying 500 at a time. Recently I've seen 1K around 650 which keeps the per round down to less then .70. I still get to go to the range once a week and sometime twice. I've been doing a lot of one box drills but I still go through 100 rounds. I use to do 100rds twice a week. Thank you for your reply.

Would like to hear your thoughts on trigger management relative to pull weight. Do you change technique or approach with triggers as the pull weight goes up. Shooting a pistol with a 5-1/2+ LB pull is very challenging as contrasted with a trigger at 3-1/2 LB pull. Thanks
