Yeah i intentionally don't try hard as I'm worried about breaking a pulley, so i alwaysbtry to out-technique the climb before i just get mad and muscle through it.

Very fun and entertaining video! Actually comforting to hear even a V15 climber call a slab scary! One thing that would improve the experience for climber-viewers is to always keep the "next" hold in frame so we know what's coming. Keep up the great work, Josh!

I always see these videos of gyms abroad with such a high density of routes on the wall. Do they keep these around for many months at a time or something? The gyms I visit have them up for at most 1,5-2 months before everything's replaced, but there's far less on the wall at a time. Seems better for that problem where you bump into the wrong holds too, haha.

Being tall really does have quite an advantage. Not to take away from you being really strong too! But I think some climbs you made it look easier cause you were already halfway there
@SethScar33
@SethScar33 5 ай бұрын
It's an advantage, until it isn't. What short people tend to forget that yeah, we are tall, but we are also heavy. There's a reason why most pro climbers are average or short.
@janexu4244
@janexu4244 5 ай бұрын
@@SethScar33 True! Ofc there are advantages and disadvantages to both. But I have personally seen a lot of men especially at the gym who are extremely tall and because of that, they skip half the climb. I've seen tall people who can do a lot harder grades not because of their technique but because of their length haha. But I've also seen some struggle with an easier grade like a V4 because it is slightly more cramped where I have found the same climb easier :) And there are also some tall climbers where it's obvious they are not just tall but also have impeccable technique and body awareness. I think generally as a beginner, you have much more of an advantage being tall until you get to harder grades when you also need technique and not just height.

Matt still bumps off of the white blob slightly as he moves his hands. At some point, you gotta start blaming the setters or whoever pressures them to put up so many big-blob climbs. I've recently seen this same sort thing happen to Anna Hazlenutt and Nikken Daniels. You can only put so many high-profile holds on the same wall before the climbs start ruining each other.

Almost every video about climbing training right now focuses on indoor bouldering... actual rock climbing is becoming more and more of a rare thing...
@JoshRundle
@JoshRundle 8 ай бұрын
That’s true! It seems less people are interested in rock climbing so when we try and make outdoor vids they don’t perform as well as the indoor videos.
@AurallWow
@AurallWow 6 ай бұрын
@JoshRundle I think that's because bouldering is becoming more popular in many areas that just don't have outdoor climbs. Here in the Netherlands there's gyms everywhere, but we'd need to go abroad to climb outdoors. As such, I don't think anyone here cares for the outdoor bits, but we love indoors stuff.
