I've used a Thule Outrigger (a slide-out load bar extension) to load kayaks for years and it serves the same purpose as your strap (but costs $100.) One factor with the Outrigger is that when it is in the stowed position it sits slightly below and behind the load bar. At highway speeds the wind rushing between the Outrigger and load bar can produce an annoying whistle. Maybe I'll toss the Outrigger and try using your strap loading method. Thanks for the video!

I wish I would have seen this way when I had my ford escape loading my Predator PDL...That is a nice way cause your yak isn't able to slide side to side as easy...but now I have a truck... darn minnesota deer LOL

Have you ever seen someone load a kayak that weighed over 100 pounds on a roof rack without the assistance of another person and without any type of loading device? I used to do it when I was younger. That's the reason that I had so many of my side mirrors break off (when I lost my grip and the kayak slid off the bars.)

If you have a easier method I’d love to hear about it! Also I say in the video it’s literally the opposite of putting it up there.
