Jaysandkays are totally awesome! I ordered bull bars from them a few days ago. My order came in on 01/28/21 but what was in the package was convertible adapters. I contacted them with a picture and stated we had a little mixup. Jay responded super fast and was very nice and apologize for the mixup. To my surprise my bull bars came in the mail on 02/01/21!! I contacted them back and asked if they would like me to return the incorrect item, and they stated no. Amazing company and I will be a customer for life!

I can as well attest to the discomfort of the g shock resin strap. It’s prone to reacting to body sweat in a way that traps dead skin and rubs against the wrist, also collecting more dust and debris than some of its cloth strapped counterparts. I had worn my g shock in the field countless times, in hot as well as cold environments. My only other complaint with the g shock is its mass, especially in the more robust models. Its thickness makes it prone to snagging on pack straps, plate carriers and other web gear that is dawned on your person as you go to put it on. The solution to this problem is wearing the watch inboard with the time piece on the bottom of your wrist. However, wearing the watch inboard also makes it more prone to getting caught on crew served weapons or even machinery and tools you may be operating.

I live in Thailand and the resin straps get uncomfortably hot and sweaty in the tropical heat. I got some adapters and nato straps from Vario in Singapore. My DW5600’s are WAY more comfortable with the natos now :)

I purchased the J&K's adapters for my G-Shock DW-5600 because the holes in the resin strap were either just a bit loose for just a bit tight. The option to throw on a one piece Zulu strap so I could adjust the tightness based on activity, sweat, etc. was the draw for me. However, the thing that I did not like about the adapters is they are a one-size-fits-all. Meaning, I like the taper on the bracelet but the adapters don't follow the taper of the watch and look kind of big and clunky. I also didn't like that the only option I have is to use a 24mm strap. Also, as another commenter said the whole watch slides/rotates around your wrist so it doesn't hold it firm. I ended up not using it as it didn't give me the benefit I was looking for. Kind of bummed out because I like the option and would have probably paid a bit more for something that is custom to that style watch. Why doesn't Casio give us strap options?!

Good video. However... am I not right in thinking that's a zulu strap you've fitted rather than a NATO? A NATO has a second smaller strap which the main strap feeds through after having been passed through the spring bars (or the adaptor in this case).

Got my first G-shock recently - a GMW-B5000-1 (the metal square with negative display and resin band), and the first thing I did was put the JaysandKays adapters on it and throw it on a Barton Jetson. I never could get into G-shocks (or Ironman watches etc) because of the resin straps, but with a comfortable seat belt NATO it's quickly becoming my daily wear watch for when I'm out and about. Just fair warning - the "spring bars" on these metal squares are so much more of a PITA to remove than the one you show here.

Yep, it's Steve again and since you make quite a few videos about Casio brand G-Shock watches. I would like to mention like others have just how uncomfortable the rubber type wrist band is. On my Casio brand G-Shock Module No. 5146 is not only a relatively big watch. And has quite a few different features and functions on it. It's the rubber wrist band that bugs me the most. Because of a few different reasons, one is that no matter how hard to try to get it on my wrist. It always seems to want to wiggle around, and of course there is a sweat issue with that type of rubber wrist band. Especially if I get it wet by either washing my hands or just putting my hand under water. And because I like to go camping and hiking during the summer months here in my area of Texas. The heat and humidity can get pretty bad. Which leads to sweating. And after a day of hiking trails and I am ready to set up camp. I'll take my G-Shock off and I will have what looks like a rash on my wrist. From where the rubber wrist band is on my wrist. So, what I have started to do is. Before I put my G-Shock back on for the day. I'll put some Gold Bond powder on my wrist. And that seems to help with not only a rash, but also keeps it from moving around on my wrist.

I can't say enough good things about Jays&Kays. If you like a 20 or 22mm strap, use their metal adapters. They cost a little more but are 100% worth it.

I adore field watches. I'm in the process of pulling the trigger on a Breitling Colt Skyracer, which is an absolute gem of a watch that can be had at a ridiculously low price because it's being discontinued. I have been using a dive watch for the last few years working in the bush, which I find works better than my Suunto Core military (G-Shock alternative) because of legibility. From a wrist watch all I need a quickly legible time display, a date and a timer (all of which an easily be done with a diver). Any other function is accomplished with other devices, especially if I'm in for more than a month. My main complaint about most divers and watches in general is weight, which the Skyracer addresses nicely. It literally disappears on the wrist until you look at it, which is helpful when you're wearing it for weeks while living outside.

G Shocks that have screw-on straps are a lot easier to change than models with spring bars. Nice video. Oh, BTW....small screws have a tendency to get lost easily. Next time, consider a small magnetic parts dish or even just a paper cup to hold the removed screws.

Yup,it looks cool with nato strap,but unfortunately there are no nato adaptor for my gulfmaster😢,i search in Amazon,Aliexpress,E-bay and still no result.... I have no issue with standard resin strap it doesnt feel im wearing any watch but im jealous when people show their G-Shock with nato strap... Some local watchmaker can make adaptor for it,but it cost almost an half from the watch itself,so i pass and i ended up myself ordering some seiko automatic which i can change strap without problem like that... Much watch expert who collect rolex or patek etc,always have g-shock and seiko,i dont know why...so i think it's good to get some g-shock and seiko since they are not expensive.

I’ve got the steel 22mm adapters and a bull bar coming in the mail today for my GW6900. Ordered Thursday…being delivered Saturday. (CA to AL too!) I like the strap on my GD350 but this GW6900 for some reason bothers me. 22mm nato (converted to single pass) premium seatbelt material in Bond blk/grey awaiting it’s arrival. The GW6900 is probably the ideal field watch..:take a 6600 add solar world time/GMT and atomic time syncing. Though the GD350 in deathstar grey is the best military watch in my opinion. Doesn’t need anything.
