I would love to see a video on polishing in depth. i still struggle with a perfect mirror finish, i think it has to do with the polishing material rather than the compound i am using. i will try loose wool like you did here, maybe that works. but there are so many videos on polishing out there only showing the compounds and not the different carrier materials and their uses, the speed of the motor, or how to clean after polishing without getting scratches all over your workpiece again. so if thats a thing you want to show us, i would gladly watch it!

You’re great! Have to adjust ring I made for my sister who has enlarged knuckle ( arthritis) and thins down toward hand. I hope I can do as nice a job as you do. Looking forward to more of your posts as I am self taught and struggle at times . Many thanks 😊

It is really great you made this video. I have really bad arthritis in my hands and fingers. Just had surgery on my rt hand because of the damage it is doing. I need a large ring to get over my nuckles and then the ring turns all the time because to big. Thank you

A lot of customers request screw posts instead of the more common push backs for earrings so we save the ones we snip off before soldering the new ones on & use these for making our 'pips' as you call them-their sizes are convenient for measuring different size 'pips' - 1 for small, 1 1/2 for medium & 2 for large.

Could you make a video about working in platinum please? I have only ever worked on gold or silver and am scared to go near platinum since its hard and has I high melting point. Any tip and tricks? Things you can do and things you can't?

so when we do this we will base the ring off our knuckle size rather than our ring size, correct? And then we get the beads/balls put on. I am a 6.5 but having a lot of trouble getting ring off without soap or water, I'm assuming I will need to return and get a 7 or 7.5 instead and get the balls put on? sorry just checking for clarification!!! thanks for the video.

Can a ring that is 14k Gold over Sterling Silver also have these resizing beads done?

Thanks for the indepth tutorial. How is the job market for foreign jewelers in Japan?
@DiamondMounter3 жыл бұрын
Non existent. I only was able to get a job in a large supermarket near home because my wife is a well known business woman in the area and even then I had to pass tests for speaking japanese, being in top health and I even had to pass a maths test. All just to stack shelves!

What is on your polishing motor for a "tip"? What part are you putting the "cotton wool" ON? Please and thank you.

Do you use acetylene or propane? Do you worry about keeping the gases in your home?
@DiamondMounter3 жыл бұрын
Iv got a tiny oxy and propane torch. The cylinders are really small so i dont worry. If I needed to I could have large ones stored outdoors and just the hoses coming inside
