Need to try ONR as a glass cleaner, even though currently i am pretty happy with valetpro glass cleaner. Flashes off nicely and is reasonably priced i think.

There are definitely times when you need that dedicated one - properly grimey stuff, things which have been vaped in etc. But for maintenance to moderately dirty, I've not found anything best this yet in terms of ease to obtain the results.

"My car would be clean if it wasn't for you lot!" 🤣🤣🤣 Good video, very sensible routine, I use KC Top Star on all the trim, quality product 👍👍👍

On my personal vehicle I'll usually dress the plastics on my maintenance cleans, but customer cars have that on a higher tier package as there needs to be significant differentiation.

Great video mate. Short and very clear. I do exactly the same process as you but different products. I need to try my ONR 😊

It's really versatile! I'm not saying this gets your interior immaculate, but for a maintenance clean it's a damn sight better than it was and it looks fantastic to most people. And commercially that's what people are paying for.

Doesn’t need to be a chew does it! I think lots of people over complicate interiors, I enjoy doing mine 👍

Once I had started doing the wet wipe down with ONR I realised how much simpler it could be, ya know? Don't get me wrong, it doesn't get it as clean as go with a more surfactant heavy product like Pol Star or an APC, but it's a maintenance clean, that's not being paid for.

@@SuperchargedLlama definitely! Little and often is my motto for interiors. Manky footprints etc get a heavier spot clean but generally a swift vacuum and wipe down with a milder cleaner & protectant is more than enough (for an enthusiast anyway)

I bloody hate doing the interior, mainly cos my old back hates but, as has been said below, little and often is the way forward for me. BTW, I use surfex at 100:1 in my interior, 10ml of surfex, I mean, it's virtually free 😊. Nice video buddy.

Yup I would say that if it needs more bite then I use Pol Star or Surfex at 2% but for maintenance cleans I don't do that. Commercially there needs to be a difference between tiers and heavy soiling for a maintenance clean gets charged at a premium.

Alright mate, just out of curiosity do you use a tornador (or similar atall?) if not may I ask the reason why, and the same of a steamer?
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama Жыл бұрын
Good question there - I don't use a tornador as I don't have a compressor (and I can't fit one in my current van set up, I would consider it if I had space, but they make a lot of mess, unless you have the new vacuum attachment on them). As for the steamer, I know so many people use them and rave about them, but I personally have never found them a substitute for a wet vac. I know the merit is that they don't make things as wet, but I also don't think they really get stuff that clean either (even the sanitisation claims is dubious, you need a long dwell time for that to be effective, but you could damage the plastics and leather in doing so, just wafted over it doesn't kill the bacteria). What I'd really like is a steam extractor, like the one Larry uses on Ammo.

@@SuperchargedLlama yeah they do seem to make alot of mess, but my thinking is if you vac and then go over with a tornador to get out that embedded sand/hair that vaccuming alone wont do(drill brush would but also makes mess and i can imagine tornador being quicker) also looking at the advantages of having the liquid bottle for spot cleaning and blasting the cleaner on the interior/blasting it out the crevices, im a new starter so its not gonna be for a while i get one anyway, i currently have a tiny handheld steamer, and I find it great at cleaning seat rails etc, also for door jams, cup holders etc, have never tried on upholstery yet, again as new im just trying to figure out ways to actually speed my process up.

@@SuperchargedLlama also talking of wet vacs, i currently use the vax spot wash, as unfortunately they seem to no longer make the model you own, and they leave the seats still damp( same as every sub £500 extractor i can imagine) whats the best method during UK winter to get it dry, especially if customer doesnt want to run their engine, as dont want it to get mouldy, i try to use as little water as possible when extracting, as dont want to oversaturate it, but feel you need to use a decent amount to pull the soap up

@@readyshreddygo4903 if you can afford it then maybe it is worth investing in the tornador, a lot of people who have them do absolutely rave about them (and equally, others don't). You'll need at least a 50L compressor and with over 9Cfm from what I've read. With regards to wetvacs and getting the seats drier, the spot wash options are rubbish at that specific task - drying. The bigger units make a much better job of that - the Numatic George is forever popular and with good reason, it doesn't cost a fortune compared to some, but is incredibly effective. Other things you can do is put a dehumidifier in the car, but in all honesty the seats aren't going to be dry in the winter if you have to return it in a day/are doing it on the customers driveway - it's just impossible. To mitigate that I think some people just use steam and then wet vac that, which uses a lot less fluid but also just affects the surface stains, nothing deeper.
@readyshreddygo4903
@readyshreddygo4903 Жыл бұрын
@@SuperchargedLlama yeah there are a few people who dont get on with them, have found one on slims for just shy of £100, with fluid reservoir and extractin unit, and yeah thats what Ive understood from reading about requirments. Whilst i do understand the spot washes arent as good as day a numatic george or a karcher puzzi, I feel they have their place, as to carry a george would mean carrying either two pipes, filters, drying the vaccum out before dry vac/cleaning before wet. Or carry two hoovers, with the spot wash being so compact it can just slot in my vehicle. I guess if a customer insists of me doing seat/carpet deep cleans in the winter, I will have to A) use as little solution/water as possible, and B) inform the customer of the risks if they dont run their engine, even possibly have them sign something, or like youve said and others do, get a steamer and clean the surface/extracting that only,
